Fitness $75. I bought a new pair of crosstrainers on sale at Nordstrom rack this year, and a pair of hiking boots on sale at a local sports outlet, otherwise my fitness expenses are null. Lift at my apartment gym, do cardio outside, hike on the weekends. Hair: $80. $20 hair color 4 times a year, I learned to trim my own hair. Makeup: $600. Largest expense, but because I am re-entering the workforce I had to buy a lot of muted, matte, and neutral colors that weren't really in my collection before…

My mother does, so yeah. Many adult women don't automatically go to that behavior, but many others do. I instinctually want to behave that way because it's what I grew up with. I am conscious of it and work hard NOT to behave that way. For some women it's easy, for some women it's not, and some women don't care how they behave as long as they get what they want. The -potential- to act that way is within every woman, which is what AWALT means. Every gun is a loaded gun.

Most RPW subscribers aren't interested in pursuing relationships with 100% "true alpha" men like the types you see on RP that are sleeping with a bunch of women and generally aren't interested in committed LTRs. LTRs require a mix of "alpha" and "beta." Someone whose goal is to sleep with many different women with little investment is going to act differently than someone whose goal is to obtain an exclusive, committed, long-term relationship. Generally speaking, mind games and manipulation aren…

Yes, AWALT, even me. Doesn't mean I have to give into it though. I might WANT to throw tantrums over not getting enough attention, try to manipulate and mindfuck my SO to get what I want, be selfish and naggy, and generally be a dramatic, self-centered, lying pain in the ass, but I don't have to. Believing I'm the exception to the rule is naive, and it doesn't allow me to take a hard look at myself and fix the problems I'm creating in my relationship. For illustration purposes. I cook dinner for…

My top two are quality time and acts of service. My SO's are quality time and touch. So as far as quality time goes, obviously we complement each other well and enjoy spending time together even if we aren't doing anything. So that's good. I have to be conscious of his need for touch, but I've gotten pretty good at being automatic with it. We're sitting by each other, and I just reach over and snuggle, stroke, scratch, tickle, whatever. I kind of treat this like an "act of service" because that …

How do you get good at literally anything that doesn't come naturally to you? You practice. I'm not good at math. I don't get it. For some people, calculus makes sense, they understand what they are actually accomplishing, and it makes intuitive sense. It makes absolutely no sense to me whatsoever. That doesn't mean I can't do it though. Some people learn it easily because it just makes sense to them. I have to learn it the long way around. Memorize, practice, repeat. Memorize, practice, repeat.…

Nope! I recently made a pretty huge move to a different state, so I haven't met a whole lot of people yet. I have a few female friends-of-friends that I don't know toooo well, but the impression I've got so far is that two are very feminist SJW types and one is extremely conservative and possibly religious. Haven't got a great read on them yet. I have trouble making relationships with women, but I'm trying. As far as men goes, I know one RP male who is well beyond anger phase and is a very pleas…

My mother is the prime example of how NOT to treat your husband. My dad bends over backwards for her, worked incredibly hard to provide for her and her children, she never had to work, she remains a stay at home wife now that her children are gone, he's polite to her always, a generally wonderful person. He is absolutely dead inside. She does nothing but criticize him, control every little thing he does, say he's lazy, stupid, and inconsiderate. She took her opportunity to stay at home with her …

"Be yourself" is bad advice. Not just for romantic relationships or hookups, but for every day life. You should have many "selves." Your work self should be the more assertive, ambitious, rational self. Your mom self should be your more authoritative, but empathetic and selfless self. Your daughter self should be your more obedient, respectful self. Fundamentally, all of these selves share your core qualities, but emphasize different elements. If everyone was just "themselves" with no considerat…

RPW here: Found a new therapist. Reached a point with my old one where there wasn't much forward progress being made, so I switched. Fresh perspective, all that. I have major depression and OCD, and it requires constant vigilance to keep manageable. Relation to RP: I'm not a good partner when I'm ill, at all. I swing back and forth between being clingy/needy and being angry and pushing people away. I can't focus on my relationships, romantic or otherwise, because I'm stuck in endless cycles of p…

It takes time. Be patient. My boyfriend had the same experience with his ex, and sometimes he falls back into the walking on eggshells mode for no real reason. Sometimes he asks for reassurance, and I provide it, but most of it is just a matter of getting used to you. (As an example of reassurance, sometimes he will ask "are you going to stop (cooking, cleaning, providing back rubs, surprising with little gifts, etc) down the line, or is this something you'll always do?" Or "would you get angry …

I don't do one night stands or FWB. LTR and marriage standards are the same, as my end goal of an LTR is marriage. I think I have pretty average standards, might be a little conservative though. I have some non-negotiables and some negotiables. For the record, my standards are: Gainfully employed and financially independent (sharing expenses with a roommate is okay). Doesn't have a history of messy break ups. 7 angry women from their past is a red flag for me, most guys I pursue have less than 3…

Even the redpilliest of red pill relationships has a division of responsibility.

I feel like red pill love is quite like when you were first falling for each other. Both partners bending over backwards to impress each other. The man surprising her with little gifts, taking her out to lovely restaurants, generally taking the lead in wooing her. The woman taking the time to look her best, be someone he enjoyed spending time with, allowing him to woo her. That doesn't have to go away. The romance fades (at least for me) when he decides to take me out and I say, "no, we really s…

God, this reminds me of my mother. Why is this considered acceptable behavior? If a man belittled every little thing his wife did, told her she couldn't do anything right because she burned the toast, smothered her and acted like he was the only responsible human being in the house, people would tell her to get the hell out. But it's completely okay for women to act like this. It's reinforced by the media that men are dumb and women are smart, and it's okay to berate your doofus husband for doin…

I don't think that BP women are inferior to RP women. No healthy woman would want a relationship with an asshole, and I don't think that BP women have that. I described what I believe a healthy BP relationship looks like in my first comment. I'm illustrating with my description of the asshole what people tend to believe a RP relationship looks like from the woman's perspective. In your previous reply, you said various things that implied that RPWs are subservient doormats, going along with the w…

Completely justified. One doesn't need to look far to find that famous subreddit full of proof that sexless marriages are doomed. It eats away at intimacy. I would not continue in a relationship where sex was not a priority.

Please note my flair - mostly red. There are elements I disagree with, mostly the extreme nature of some of these relationships. I find RPW to be the closest thing to a community of women who enjoy the kind of traditional roles I enjoy. If there was a similar community that wasn't associated with red pill, I'd be there, but there's not (to my knowledge). To me, the "red pill" thing is more about my mindset than anything else. I like the supportive role. I like being the primary homemaker, cook, …

I completely understand that it's unappealing for many people, and that there are many successful relationships beyond the ideas behind RPW. I also understand that some people won't like relinquishing control over some aspect of their life to their partner. I personally do. I like not having to worry about money. I like not having to worry about planning home repairs. I like not having to worry about where my partner is going in his career. That's his domain, I trust him, I believe in him to do …

I do make my own money. Part of it goes into the joint account and is handled from there, part into savings, and part remains with me for my personal spending and the expenses I'm responsible for (food, household goods). I chose my career, I chose my friends, I go out with them once or twice a week, I have privacy, hobbies, interests that have nothing to do with him. He is not even aware that he is in a "red pill" relationship. My frame of mind and behavior in my relationship is my decision. I'm…

I personally would not be happy in a blue pill relationship dynamic. I have obsessive compulsive disorder, serious control issues, and a scathing tongue on me. Adopting a philosophy of restraining myself from criticism, allowing my partner to guide me, relinquishing control of certain areas of our partnership over to him, and embracing the ideals of a "RPW" home makes me much happier and healthier. I don't think I would be happy in a relationship where I am expected to contribute 50% to decision…

I was raised hardcore conservative fundamentalist, and I am now an atheist. I dislike religion.

I think you're missing some pretty key components like respect, loyalty, harmoniousness, joyfulness, and encouragement. I can cook every night, bang twice a day, keep in shape, wear pretty things, and be polite and still be a terrible human being. I think if you're going to change one thing, combine 4 and 5 into "embrace femininity" and add "be respectful." Respect goes a long way in a relationship, and an attitude of respectfulness can guide your attitude in other areas as well. If you are resp…

I'm in a very traditionalist relationship, and my boyfriend has said that he would prefer to take my name rather than I take his. He has a terrible, awkward last name. I hesitate because I feel like everyone would get the wrong impression of our relationship if that were to happen, so we've talked about choosing a completely new last name to take together. It's a bit odd, but it doesn't scream "FEMINISM" like him taking my name.
