I had to force myself to finish the season because it got way too political. It wasn't even subtle or innocuous imo. I honestly believe it's a push from whoever signs their checks. Idk for sure but I think it's because as a successful show they get more media attention so producers want actors to be more attractive. Not like the "fat guy" losing 40 lbs because it removes fat jokes but more along the lines of people toning up or just losing love handles regardless if they can be seen on the show. Now it’s my turn So the reason he became fat is because he talked with the rest of the cast and commented on how when shows become successful that the cast gets more attractive/better shape in later seasons. He thought it would be funny if they all went the other direction. Nobody boarded that train except him. They wrote his weight gain into the show. And then he lost it.
