2	Is vasectomy the only effective birth control? A vasectomy can fail, it has happened and people have ended up with kids. The only 100% effective birth control is to avoid sex. Pills and IUD can fail. If you plan to have sex and you do not want children then a vasectomy, a condom, hormonal birth control and spermicide gel are all options you could invest in and somehow they'd still tell you that you only have a 99% chance to avoid pregnancy lol.
