Most reports are for people living beyond their supposed means or for suspicious business practices. That's evidence you can obtain, but it takes slightly more effort than just reporting someone for selling a service online.

suspected crime That's the part people are taking issue with. There's nothing inherently suspicious about it. It's someone receiving money in exchange for something. She should be reporting that on her taxes obviously, but if the transaction itself is suspicious to you it seems like you should be reporting an ungodly number of people who don't make a living from a paycheck.

I said kids because that's who usually shoot roman candles at each other, but it doesn't really matter how old they were. If two consenting adults are willingly and knowingly engaging in reckless behaviour with each other and one gets injured, is the other responsible for the injuries? Not fully, that's for sure. This isn't two kids dicking around with roman candles. No, it's two kids dicking around with a gun. If a fetus were legally a person, and pregnancy is known to have a 10-20% miscarriage rate, could a miscarriage be considered negligent homicide? That's an alternative. I'm not saying to throw the false accuser in jail for 10+ years, but I think there should be an appropriate punishment. What type of punishment is appropriate is up for discussion, as long as there is some sort of punishment. No matter what it may encourage or discourage, false accusation in a court of law is still perjury, and in this type of case it can ruin lives. If there is no punishment for that, no matter how small the punishment may be, then there is no justice.

I see what you're saying, but I think there should be some kind of repercussion for perjury and destruction of someone's life. Yes, it would probably discourage people from recanting their testimonies. However, it might also discourage vigilantism.
