Thats just an epistemological problem. Once we understand how the brain works in detail, well be able to point to malfunctioning parts of the brain that cause a mental illness just as easily as we would with any other illness. I was talking about studies which control for the jobs that people have. If the wage gap were 0, then you would expect there to be as many studies that found that women make 10% more than men as you would studies that found that women make 10% less than men. you don't see this, so the wage gap probably does exist. I'd like to see data of percentage of children abused in each circumstance, ie percentage of children raised by a single father who were abused vs percentage of children raised by a single mother who were abused. It looks from the data provided that a child raised by a single father is far more likely to abused, since there is a some what comparable number of children abused in each situation, but I'm fairly certain there are far more children of single moms than single dads.

Its true that pj media is as conservative as they come. That doesnt necessarily mean that they are wrong. I havent seen the video, but im rarely impressed with their stuff, so i wouldnt be surprised if it is crap.

I was just saying that starting your book with a quote by an author such as ayn rand will make people who vehemently disagree with her (a sizable chunk of the population) not take your book as seriously, even if it is one as innocuous as the one given

The fountainhead is a perfect analogy to the vagina monologues. If a man rapes a woman, and she later describes it as a good experience (she did marry her rapist, after all), would this be something that feminists would defend? I would most certainly hope not. rape is never a good thing, but im supposed to believe that when a woman does it, its either beneficial, or hilarious, or impossible.

I am confused about the "kids from fatherless homes are..." statistics. shouldn't the comparison be between kids in fatherless homes vs kids in motherless homes? fatherless vs two parent families doesn't say much about which gender on the whole is better at raising kids.
