You can't solve a problem you can't identify clearly. So, what makes it uncomfortable for you to own your sexual desire for women ? Perfect answer not needed, half baked thoughts are fine. They can be worked through and built up on.

It's tough to give advice without understanding what's going on, I'm going to try to explain what I understood and what I think may help. Let me know if it makes sense. To me, it sounds like to protect yourself from the pain of a breakup, from the pain of broken trust - you're choosing to be skeptical of all women and to reject them often. It probably feels risky to trust them. But, then you're left with the pain of a lack of connection with women. Which also sucks I'm imagining that you don't w…

I think the first thing is to understand how you got to this point. If you understand that fully, that helps you not get back here again. Good problem diagnosis comes before good problem solving. The second is a medical evaluation by your doctor to rule out medical conditions that are contributing to weight gain. Blood work, physical, it sounds like you've done that recently. The third is sustainability. If you hate it, you won't want to do it. If it takes multiple hard steps just to get started…

I think that you are already on a start to getting over it but admitting that you're an alcoholic, thinking of when and why you're drinking and getting some help through therapy. Look if you want out of this , it's going to require support and the more that you can get, the better. Groups like AA will probably be really good for you. It's worth trying before dismissing it. As far as I know, there's no religious aspect to it and I doubt that everyone in AA is religious. If not AA, ask your doctor…

It's definitely easier said than done, but it's worth doing and continue to do. Consider it a "practice" that you always improve on. You may want to look at some sci-fi films and shows which have immortality as a central theme. It may influence your opinion on how glamorous it is to live forever. And yea, you're right. This works already has a lot of beauty in it, some of which is obvious and some of which requires a curious eye. It'd be good for you to focus on what you can access right now.

So what's the point of worrying about something that you can't control ? Perhaps you realize it's pointless and if so, then it turns to being a matter of kindly reminding yourself of that whenever you think of it and refocusing on what helps make your life fulfilling. It's understandable to want to love forever , I get it and I think I'd like that as well. But until scientists figure how to reverse aging - it's best that we accept our mortality and use the fact that we can die any day or time to…

And so what if you cease to exist? Would it help you if you were spending your time doing the things that you want to do leading up to whenever you cease to exist?

Well one can argue that if life was perfect, you wouldn't know it's perfect because you wouldn't have anything to compare it to. Regardless, can you change what life is ? Nope. Can you make changes to your experience of life ? Yup Well , if your life ends and nothing is present after.... You won't exist to care, right ? What can you do to reduce the likelihood of a sudden unpredictable death ?

Does something have to last forever for it to be perfect ? Why does it have to be perfect ? Anxiety of it ending abruptly ? So are you saying you're afraid of a sudden unpredictable death ?

I can't tell you why you're anxious. I'm not you. I can just ask you some questions. So what if you and everything else will cease to exist one day ? Is there some rule that says you can't enjoy your life up until your death ? Can't give your life meaning while it lasts ?

I was in a similar situation. 3.5 year relationship with someone that has essentially become a best friend and then after that she went no contact while I longed for a connection. I can relate with what you're going through. When the relationship ended for me I pretty much had no friends and felt pretty damn lonely. I unfortunately solely prioritized the relationship during the time we dated and didn't invest in friendships. I've come to see that solid friendships need to exist before we get int…

I just want to start by saying I'm just guessing I don't know you at all so take what I say with a grain of salt Look, liking and being proud of who you are is great and important but it's also nice for others to like us too and want to spend time with us. It's understandable that you feel a bit hurt when you see that experience going on for a friend and it's not going on for you. There's a difference between willingly being single and selective about who you date and feeling like you're outcast…

I think it's great that you want to reignite your sex life and remind your wife that you're still into her, but I don't think how you're planning to do it is a good idea. You want her to know that you're into her ? Frankly there's no better way than to literally tell her and show it by actually spending the time with her . Sex toys are a very personal item and if you bought anything that's for her, unless you 150% knows she wants it then I highly recommend you return it. These are toys that inte…

No problem. Perhaps in this short time you got left you can work on improving your boundary setting skills. What I find works well here is 1. Knowing what's fair and what's not and being confident in it. 2. Being calm and polite 3. Being firm. Sticking with it. It'd be hard to stick to a boundary if you're not confident that boundary should be there. There's other reasons too that boundaries break which you should investigate within yourself. Ask yourself - why did I let that boundary break ther…

Honestly, you're over-utilized because you allowed it and because they probably don't mind exploitation. You didn't set boundaries and didn't stick to your job responsibilities. They haven't given a shit about your well-being. Sure , maybe you don't mind doing a little extra here and there, but really you should be getting compensated for going above and beyond. Your time isn't free, your body isn't free and neither are limitless. They haven't treated you fairly and you know it. So two things I …

I understand that the debt fucks over plans for home ownership but might you be over-exaggerating how long it'll take the pay the debt ? 37k is a lot but houses , at least where I'm at are easily 20x more expensive. If you were planning to get a home, you'll need to be making more money either way. You've just got a 37k sized bump in the road to go through. If you take a look at subs like r/personalfinance and other money management subs, you can take a look at many accounts of people with sizab…

Hey look , we both know that you fucked up. But this doesn't mean that your decision making up to this point is what will define the rest of your life. You can blame your parents/ upbringing and your friends all you want but to be honest with you , that doesn't change the past nor is it likely to make your present or future better. I'm not discounting their effect on you, I'm just saying that they're not going to "fix" you. Making yourself and your situation better is on you. Now here you need t…

What are you angry and frustrated about ? What concerns are not being listened to ? Please be a lot more specific.

What I understood is that his concerns are to behave more like a man and to develop manly characteristics and abilities that he supposedly didn't learn as his social circle has mostly been women. He's critical of some of his mannerisms/behaviours and he's concerned about how he's being perceived ( ex: he doesn't want to be perceived as gay). I'd be interested to know what mannerisms he has exactly that he doesn't like and why. I prefer not to box in certain behaviours and attributes to a certain…

If I were you, rather than focusing on how to be a better man I would just focus on how to be a better human. That's it. There's no need to box yourself into a category of behaviour whether you like it or not. You don't need to box yourself into a specific gender or sexual orientation role to play. Examine all the philosophies and life guidebooks that exist, develop your critical thinking skills and build your own philosophy. You can learn from all genders and sexes and sexual orientations. Take…
