education is a large and complex process. it's an over-simplification to say that it's all rote memorization and standardized tests and rapid recall. and it's god-damn irresponsible to say public education is furthering inequality. you can communicate your misgivings about public education because you were put through it in the first place.

and you've just gone and ignored the larger, total context of claiming that some industries and vocations are gender-biased. there are social forces in play that make it difficult to determine to what degree disparity can be blamed on genetic differences, and how much of it we've done ourselves through social pressures.

i don't think jail time makes sense in this instance. what would it accomplish? Davis has shown herself to be completely irresponsible behind the wheel; so the judge took away her driver's license for 18 months. it seems like a reasonable punishment assuming there's a bureaucratic and legal barrier in place for individuals renewing their license after a suspension like that.

The military is a meritocracy for the simple reason in a time of war, being second place means you lost. you have a naive view of what a military is. there's more to the institution than just the soldiers on the front line. and there's nothing sacred about any military; they're all just as political and rife with nepotism and corruption as any other institution.

have you not read the source of "most responsible teenager in the house"? it's an unsourced, unscientific opinion put forward in a random blog, echoing the sentiments of the 19th century that women are inherently incapable of maturing fully into adulthood. it's exactly the kind of group-enforced delusion that'd be called out as blue-pill on any other topic, but because it grinds the misogyny axe, it gets a pass around these parts.

i never said chromosomes were a social construct, so congrats on the red herring. and likewise for this gem: whether you are male or female is absolutely relevant to the conversation. if you think that's true, then you've precluded the whole point of my line of thought: anecdotes are not scientific, and the conclusions we draw from them are not necessarily borne out as statistical norms. that kind of refuge in ignorance strikes me as straight-up blue.

that's not how darwinism works. evolution doesn't pick winners. evolution selects out anything not good enough. there's a big difference there. saying otherwise is shying away from the truth that the inconceivably vast majority of people are actually descended from people of the same class and stature. pretending that kings and heroes are the pinnacle of human experience is such bullshit if you took even a moment to try to pin down the people who have ended up in those roles.
