UK: There are about 100 Male midwives in the UK. They are discriminated against and there was a great deal of opposition to them even being allowed to be midwives. In the UK 90% of nurses are female. Where is the Government campaign for more male nurses, midwives and GP's?I don't think it is discrimination either. But the article is about discrimination from within the profession itself. If other female midwives are trying to keep out males who wish to join the profession than that is discrimination. Just a curiosity, but how would you feel if there were sanctioned, male-only practices that didn't allow women and only catered to men? To be honest, I don't even know if they exist or not or if they would even be lawful. | /r/MensRights | 03/11/14 08:48 PM

There are plenty of women who are just fine with male doctors delivering their baby, so why would they have a problem with a male midwife? Does having a medical degree all of a sudden make women feel more comfortable around them? If what you say is true then there would never be any male OB/GYNs either. But there are lots of them. | /r/MensRights | 03/11/14 07:25 PM |

I don't have the numbers on it but I know that there are an awful lot of male physicians out there who deliver babies. Why would it be any different with midwives? | /r/MensRights | 03/11/14 07:09 PM |
Norway extends mandatory military service to women<1% of the entire US Army (a.k.a force) were pregnant and only 4% of the women. In any case the paper supports the EXACT OPPOSITE of your thesis, which should be enough to tell you that you are incapable of actually performing research. We both know that you jumped on Google and grabbed the first article that you thought proved your point purely by its title alone. It's laughable, actually. Great going, man! In the end you have absolutely zero statistical proof that your claim is justified. Nada… | /r/MensRights | 15/10/14 10:30 PM
Norway extends mandatory military service to womenWell did you even bother to read it? It states that female soldiers get pregnant and cannot be deployed. Less than 1% of the force if I read correctly. Does it state that this is any more or less than the general population? No. Does it state that they are doing this maliciously? No. It's almost laughable to me that you use this as your source as it was written by a (female) Air Force Major with the intent to show that women in the military don't impact readiness because reserve forces can fill … | /r/MensRights | 15/10/14 09:17 PM

Norway extends mandatory military service to womenShow me where it will cost lives? Do you have any proof of that? Why do we have women police officers or FBI agents if it's so fucking dangerous? Why do some countries allow women in combat if it destroys unit cohesion and kills men in droves? It's obvious you're a troll, and an idiot to boot, and I'm done with this debate. | /r/MensRights | 15/10/14 05:35 PM
Norway extends mandatory military service to womenNo, that's wrong and it's hard not to resort to ad hominem attacks here. You said: Quite simply, women don't belong in the military. You can't have women in the military until society can see women as individually disposable as it sees men. Period. The benefit of allowing women into the military is equality. Plain and simple. Whether they're better or worse at it on average is completely irrelevant and the point I've made the entire way. This whole fucking article is about extending mandatory mi… | /r/MensRights | 15/10/14 05:18 PM
Norway extends mandatory military service to womenHow is this any different from the way the world operates today? Women get pregnant, get over it. It's how we propagate the species. I had a bunch of male service members who would do things to get out of deployment too. Even hurting themselves intentionally so they were no longer fit for duty. And they weren't drafted either. But the topic of discussion here is not what women provide that men cannot, but rather why should men alone be forced into giving their lives for their country via our sel… | /r/MensRights | 15/10/14 01:43 PM
Feminist explains how great abortion is (for women) and adds: "We would never expect a man to drop everything and accept a life of dimmed hope because of a single ejaculation." Wut?You're missing the point entirely. Women should find men who are willing to have children with them if that's what they want. Then it is consensual. Equal. Now you may have unprotected sex if that's so desired (and it usually is). Otherwise women are forcing men to pay for children against their will if they accidentally -- or maliciously -- get pregnant. Men have zero choice today and you are willfully refusing to accept that premise entirely. I believe there will be a time in the future when w… | /r/MensRights | 14/10/14 11:43 PM
Norway extends mandatory military service to womenWell I don't think that it destroys unit cohesion. At all. Sure, there are a few white knights out there but most everyone is chill about it. I mean, you know that women have been serving in the military for some time, right? Do you think that those units with woman don't function today? And combat load is just a made up set of items anyway. They randomly pulled that shit out of their ass for training purposes and could easily adjust it if necessary with little effect. Do you think that's actual… | /r/MensRights | 14/10/14 11:30 PM
Feminist explains how great abortion is (for women) and adds: "We would never expect a man to drop everything and accept a life of dimmed hope because of a single ejaculation." Wut?First of all there's a lot more to an abortion than the financial costs I know, that's why the contract is there. If the man doesn't sign it then make sure that you are using proper birth control or find someone who is amenable to having a child with you. Obviously the man is partially responsible for the costs of birth control. Second of all, what about all the x amount of children being created with no second parent to support them? Well, the aim would be that there are fewer of these children… | /r/MensRights | 14/10/14 11:13 PM
Norway extends mandatory military service to womenI did serve in the military for many years and had the opportunity to work with many female service members during that time. I wouldn't have a problem doing so again today. Not being able to do as many pushups as me has little bearing on how a woman will fare in combat. Sure, maybe the Navy Seals or part of Ranger battalion might be pushing it a bit (although if they can pass the qualification then why not?), but regular infantry? Sure, lots of women could handle that. As I said, our infantry i… | /r/MensRights | 14/10/14 11:07 PM
Feminist explains how great abortion is (for women) and adds: "We would never expect a man to drop everything and accept a life of dimmed hope because of a single ejaculation." Wut?How about we make the law state that since no contract exists the man has no obligations? If the woman would like to have a child with him and have him support the process for the next 19-25 years then the man would need to sign a contract agreeing to the pregnancy. Without said consent, men are legally obligated to pay for some portion of an abortion if pregnancy occurs and either one of the parties opt out. Marriage does not imply consent to pregnancy. Should a woman choose to carry on with th… | /r/MensRights | 14/10/14 10:41 PM
Norway extends mandatory military service to womenYes, it's true on average that women don't have the same strength that men possess, but rarely do we get into true hand-to-hand combat anymore. If you can fire a rifle and carry your own gear then that should be fine for most combat positions. With regard to the other points you mentioned, they are mostly true right now but it doesn't mean that society cannot change. In fact, it steps like these that will cause the transition. Foregoing it only prolongs the problem, like kicking the can down the… | /r/MensRights | 14/10/14 10:29 PM
Woman Who Stabbed Boyfriend 24 Times Then Dismembered Him Gets Life Sentence - WZTV FOX 17Dude, you tell me. I think the burden of proof is on OP and you for saying that it wasn't. I don't know how you could glean much information at all from that short article. I'm just happy that she was convicted accordingly for MURDERING AND DISMEMBERING A HUMAN BEING. I don't on the surface see how this is some sort of unequal treatment she is being shown as a woman. Why would prosecutors even attempt to try her for domestic violence? It seems ludicrous to me. | /r/MensRights | 02/10/14 10:55 PM
Woman Who Stabbed Boyfriend 24 Times Then Dismembered Him Gets Life Sentence - WZTV FOX 17Why won't it get counted as domestic violence? This is like a 250-word article from a news site covering the verdict, not the fucking judge's opinion set into official record. And even if it were I hope that statisticians take a little more time than simply googling for the words "domestic violence" and then calling it a day. | /r/MensRights | 02/10/14 09:56 PM
