I would only add that "at least 30 minutes" is a little overboard. 30 minutes of daily mediation is rather far down the advanced spectrum, and I believe is likely to be quite intimidating, especially to a beginner. Certainly it would be a very good habit, but I would recommend starting out with something more like 5-10 minutes daily and slowly working up, as the habit of daily practice will trump intermittent longer sessions
