most of the ill-treatment of women happens in rural areas, the law is completely made only to be used by women tho, alot of the stuff you hear about India could be propaganda, ofc there is a problem but it's exaggerated for the rest of the world so that people think of India badly

the point of the post which OP hasn't done a good job communicating is not the fact that marital rape laws are bad, but the fact that here in India, accused men are guilty until proven innocent, and if you think police brutality is bad in america, India is a different league, so you'll be thrown into a cell and beaten up quite a bit, lose your job, your kids and your life over some salty wife who wants a little extra in a divorce
