you're still missing my point. I'm not saying whether it is or isn't. I'm saying this double standard everyone is yelling about doesn't exist

maybe its just me but I dont find them that bad, esp the BC one - if the guy refuses to use a condom her actions seem fair. and I didnt call anyone insecure. on the whole I just think OP is very dramatic about this post. its fuckin Whisper.

lol these are curated from submissions to Whisper, aka potentially biased/extreme examples to the max. Whisper is usually used as an outlet for confessions, I wouldn't call it bragging. and they could even be entirely fictional. also 80% of them aren't even about lack of loyalty, some of them are even RP-y (trying to make their number seem lower), and on the whole they're not even that bad ... lying about working out? terrible! lying about being on BC to make sure the guy wears condoms - is it t…

so you agree, then? you think that men drive women to cheat? that's fine if so my point here is not to say that it IS problematic, I'm only saying that most feminists would in fact consider BOTH versions problematic and therefore it's not a biased 'double standard.' even if you think there's no reason to get upset with either version, at least realize they would probably take offense with BOTH versions so it's equal opportunity offense

I think slut shaming still happens a good amount (perhaps less openly), at least, we still judge promiscuous women far more than promiscuous men

if they didn't get married so young....I feel like the insecurities she had with him would almost certainly have broken them up before marriage. I feel like the only situation in which they could get all the way to marriage is if she got over them. that's JMO though

why are you even worried, if you're reasonably good looking / etc. you will have no issues dating outside of med school, and/or after you graduate

Asians, from Asia, are very racist. there is a lot of shadeism in Asia (the typical East Asian might look down upon darker East Asians, and definitely South or SE Asians) so until most Asians in the US have been here for a few generations, these patterns will persist

I think this story is also a pretty big cautionary tale to marrying when you're, what, 20? the arc of their relationship would have been very different if they didn't commit to marriage so stupidly young. maybe they would've broken up earlier, in which case MAYBE she might have found someone else before she hit 'the wall.' or maybe they would have resolved issues better, and she got over her silly insecurities? who knows. either way. I'd chalk this one up more to the early marriage thing, teenag…

I don't necessarily disagree, but do we have numbers on respective cheating besides this clickbaity Business Insider headline? I don't trust BI ever, really

My relatives in China have strong family units because the women are taught and trained well to listen to their man. where's your family from? my family is from Shanghai and one of my female cousins is 32 and the last one still married out of her group of college friends b/c all their husbands cheated on them w/ younger women. then he cheated on her and wanted to leave her for the other woman (AND take their kid with him - on what basis?), but his family who loved his wife wouldn't let him. she …

to preface, I do skew liberal/progressive in many areas, but I hate extremism in either direction and I don't disagree with the idea of a basic biological difference between the sexes, which is why I read TRP. so I do have plenty of friends who are on the liberal/feminist end of the spectrum as well as conservative. while many feminists are awful, I think many of the feminists I know would find the title/premise of the article problematic as well, in fact I just showed this to one of them and sh…

sorry to hear that but glad you're happier now. we don't have plans for kids just yet b/c we're both still doing our own thing for now, and neither of us has had to sacrifice much for the other yet. I imagine things get tough when either aprty feels they've given too much up

oh I know I'm still young, what I said about my relatively easy experience was intended only to compare myself w/ what I assume to be a large number of TRPers who are around my age and have had a good 10-15 years of negative experiences (whereas mine were "relatively easy yet fulfilling"). I don't mean to sound overly worldly and I know I'm going to see rougher waters ahead

Very few women (and people in general) are THIS analytically manipulative, HTH

thanks for responding! but TBH I don't know that women these days necessarily are viewed to believing men are the enemy, at least not in my experience w/ women. a highly radical subset, perhaps!

sure, if you're conscious then robbery v. rape is problematic to compare for the reasons you've listed. but what if you're drunk and/or unconscious, which is what this is satirizing. if you're PTFO you would be equally unable to stop someone from stealing your stuff v. having sex w/ you and what about forcible mugging/robbery, like forcible rape? (which to be fair is usually the kind of rape even conservatives allow to "count" as rape)

the hair is definitely a big breakup thing. the clothes buying, not so much (as in, women often buy a lot of clothes, period. not necessarily linked to breakups)

understood, thanks for responding! I myself am ~30 and married to my college gf (things aren't perfect, but I am and have been much happier than my single friends) and I lurk on TRP not out of complete agreement OR disagreement, just out of curiosity. I have friends who like it and friends who hate it. I realize I am part of a very small subgroup of people who have had a relatively easy yet fulfilling experience with the opposite sex

the only thing you need a woman for is sex honest question - does the idea of a "life partner" (assuming it all goes well - you have similar interests, good sex, no cheating, etc. all good no bad) sound unappealing in and of itself, or is it just entirely unrealistic and so you don't even see it as a possibility? b/c there are definitely couples who achieve this rare relationship... i.e. do you see it as something you actively don't want, or something that is just so unlikely to find that you do…

you know, given your choice in line of work (i.e. a male in a female-dominated sector) I would have guessed personal characteristics such as: warmth/compassion, open-minded, more progressive/liberal in ideology, more about gender equality. you don't necessarily seem to espouse such viewpoints, can I ask how you got into this field? (I mean obviously you are compassionate to your kids, but anyways)

Nobody sluts shames as much as women, When it comes to being cruel and having a crab bucket mentality they are the champions. Even a study about misogynistic tweets on Twitter showed that over 50% come from women. The twitter study you quote shows that ~50%, not OVER 50%. so in other words, everyone slut shames about the same amount? There's no animosity in my circle of escorts, in fact we often work together if a client wants to have a three- or foursome So are all women bitter hags, or not?
