Rather vague on the term complications. Makes sense if the complications are infections. Women have a better immune systems which wards off infections and can aid the healing process. On the other hand they are 3x more likely to get an autoimmune disease when compared to men. This probably makes them have a shittier time with transplants as well. http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2009/05/090511180740.htm http://www.aarda.org/women_and_autoimmunity.php Stress tends to affect the immune system …

Males are more aggressive and dominating so an adult male that has sexual contact with a child (regardless of gender) qualifies as abuse. Of course.... because male sexuality has ZERO value while female sexuality is pristine and to be pined over. Men and their desires are so yucky and disgusting while female desire even when it's directed at a child is beautiful and innocent. When an attractive adult female has sexual relations with a young boy I don't see how that would be traumatizing. When I …

But what is the problem with biology as it is? People as you may have noticed are not happy that every time they fuck they have no control over whether a baby comes out or that they keep dying of diseases or that they have to use their bodies to travel from point A to point B. So they create birth control, antibiotics and vaccinations, and cars to make their lives easier. We want to control nature. It is why we have a brain and have become so successful as a species. The burdens of biology slows…

Human's goal is to overcome and control nature. That includes their own biology. We've created an artificial world where we can control our reproduction and as we become more and more able to do so through artificial womb and whatever else the more we'll have to deal with these issues. The traditional way of life fits the nature in which it was developed in but that is not the same nature we live in today.

All depends on how much her earnings are. If they are higher than yours she could end up paying you. I would discourage you from moving in with someone who doesn't make near or above your earnings or isn't committed to their job.
/r/MensRights18/04/12 06:36 AM

How does this factor into more women going to college than men? As in more men than women work in labor intensive jobs that don't require an education.

My problem with a title that you suggested is that it implies all that men want in relationships is sex. It's dehumanizing at best.

I think that's actually the opposite. Society wishes to go against nature when ever it is beneficial for society as a whole to do so. Otherwise why place a punishment/reward system to encourage certain behaviors over others if those behaviors would naturally exist without outside influence? Marriage itself is a social contract designed to circumvent natural urges because overall it creates better social cohesion and more viable offsprings. If culture demanded people to constantly act in unnatura…

rape is primarily an act of sexual gratification achieved by means of circumventing female reproductive choice. This is assuming females had reproductive choices which is really a stretch. Females are biological resources and limiting factors in reproduction. Because of this in any society control and dispersion of these resources is of utmost importance to that society's power and advancement. Whether a woman wants to be raped or not is not important in whether rape is allowed to take place. Wo…

Women don't have agency. Women as a group do not. But some women do and those women do not owe to feminism as some people might suggest. Women not being attracted to men who earn money is a fantasy. Saying that this is solely biological on the woman's part is a bit of a stretch. It's not taking into account that women, unlike men, have the ability to marry up because men are willing to marry down. If men were given the same opportunity would they not do so themselves? And if women do not have ag…

Women being able to earn money is not a fantasy. It's a natural progression of advancement. House work is not what it used to be and there are plenty of jobs that don't require physical aptitude. Women gaining agency is not the work of feminism. They did it before feminism, they will do it after feminism, and women do it today even without the existence of feminism in their culture. Yes men are attracted to fertility but in my opinion monogamy is far from natural so why do we apply basic instinc…

I wasn't advocating alimony. It's completely outdated and so is marriage in general. It's a VERY good deal for the lower income spouse And it's a shame that men are so often willing to marry down.
/r/MensRights16/04/12 09:02 AM
2

The point of alimony is to give the person the same lifestyle they had while married. It's when one partner has a ridiculously higher income than the other. It's ridiculous such people even consider getting married. Most people do not have such income disparities (alimony is given in only ~15% of divorces and most of it is temporary alimony) and in cohabitation it wouldn't be such an issue. It's child support that really gets you regardless of marital status.

your assets You know you can have standards as far as her income is concerned. It's no longer very feasible for people to live comfortably on one income. Be with women who make money and have assets themselves. It's not like women can't get jobs and succeed at them.

The biggest problem with it is that women are not charged for making false claims. Making a false police report is a crime then why aren't these people charged with anything. It's enabling women to falsely make a report because of the lack of consequences.

All power that women have gained unequally over men has been fundamentally achieved first and foremost through the manipulation of men's libido en masse. That's a bit of an oversimplification and somewhat insulting to men.

I think it's a step in the right direction none the less. Considering these limitations I don't think it's half bad. It's articles like these that might open the door to public inclusion of MRM as a legitimate movement towards gender equality.

I don't like patriarchy 2.0 either but I don't think patriarchy is a good fit for the post modern world. Also, do you think we can really call black hypermascuilinity a variation of cad? From what I read the cad societies relied on women working and the men retrieving a positive male identity from physical conflicts. But are black men relieved of their financial responsibilities (having to work and attaining wealth) like the men in cad cultures are? From what I can tell crime and hypermasculinit…
/r/MensRights15/04/12 05:05 AM

When you use it like that you are defining it on feminism's term. In reality patriarchy demanded something of both genders and pushed them into strict roles so that this family dynamic could continue. The patriarchal definition of the father relied heavily on the father having a financial role rather than a caring one. Women are the primary caregivers in patriarchy, it is their gender role to care for children and demand financial restitution for this duty, because of this they will be given the…
/r/MensRights14/04/12 08:32 PM

High birthrates are achieved through domestic wife/worker husband dynamic. Hence their prevalence. Also I find the emergence of hypermasculinity in the black culture a bit in conflict with the notion of matriarchy. Perhaps because that isn't the correct word for it. It seems to be more like patriarchy 2.0: All the patriarchal expectations for the male and all the comforts of it for the female.

People are becoming obsessed with safety. A great example is the kids with shitty immune systems and terrible allergies because their parents didn't let them get dirty when they were kids.

Call it barbaric, but boys need roughhousing. It is part of their genetic programming. People need it. How can women benefit from being confined? and how can men be the only ones getting hindered by it? Passivity is dangerous because it encourages inaction and that leads to a stagnant society.
/r/MensRights14/04/12 06:17 AM

How do you think this dynamic affects a female child and how she grows up to take on the same role as her mother? Would she look for female approval as well? The biggest example of this is the middle east Those countries are the biggest proponent of male domestication as it is described in this video. Almost complete division of labor in many of those countries and the deep ingrained 'male superiority' because he is trained to believe he is what he is because he is stronger and not weak like the…

I don't understand why MRAs would encourage traditionalist approach to relationships. Although I understand people have the right to choose this lifestyles it still promotes men to be the providers and for women to be dependent on the male financially. It may give the male more power in the relationship but she can divorce and still get the benefits without giving you any respect. It's a false sense of power and it has always been that way. It's the basis of alimony and child support and why fem…

I know the definition of rape is limited to penetration (only recently expanded to general penetration and not only vaginal penetration I guess men getting raped anally were not really raped a few years ago because the law didn't define it as such). This is what most MRAs have a problem with and the argument is that it should not be limited to penetration but expanded to include engulfment. These laws are based on the assumption that no man can have heteronormative sex forced upon him. I am argu…
/r/MensRights13/04/12 03:20 AM

At the point where someone is using force (yes women can use force and other forms of intimidation) to gain access to your genitals and to physically stimulate them. Then yes it is rape. If a man says no I do not wish to and she continues to do it then it is rape. Better yet if he uses force to stop it from happening who do you think the police will arrest?
/r/MensRights13/04/12 02:53 AM

Well that's great that you generalize based on your own behavior. All men must be the same right?
/r/MensRights13/04/12 02:38 AM

This is a huge double standard. Just because female genital arousal is not needed for heteronormative coitus does not mean that only females can be raped. The clit can engorge with blood during a rape, the vagina can become self lubricated, and can expand to accommodate what ever is invading it. Females can and do reach orgasms during rape. Does that nullify that someone had their personal space violated? That they experienced trauma from having sex forced upon them? I don't think so and it's pr…

It will. But I think it's more difficult for men to unify over the basis of maleness than it is over other identities. And for something like brotherhood to happen on any meaningful scale there needs to be more awareness of male related issues much of which are ignored on the basis that they only affect men.
/r/MensRights13/04/12 12:29 AM

When Feminism was taking root that wasn't the case yet they were not silenced to the degree in which male problems are silenced today. Better yet men are not even complaining about issues that they face. Most are either ignorant of the issues or if they know they accept it as part of being a male. There is a general lack of sympathy towards male problems and a hypersensitivity towards female ones.
/r/MensRights13/04/12 12:11 AM

Definitely. Who makes up the majority of law makers? Men. Yet the male point of view and how issues affect men is rarely brought up. Compassion for other men is non existent even among male dominant populations. Feminism is successful because it goes along with the patriarchal feminine definition that women need help. While men's rights is in direct conflict with social structure and masculinity.

The problem here is consent. It seems that you would consent to sex with any female. Understand that other men might not want to do so.

This is really a gender role/cultural issue rather than a systematic discrimination one. I think the reasons often cited for unequal pays have in one way or another something to do with motherhood. I think the problem here is that mothers are expected to take time off when they have children while men are not. There are biological constraints here that make short maternity leaves (such as 3 months) female unique issue. But in my opinion solving the problem of equal pay can be addressed by increa…
/r/MensRights12/04/12 11:24 PM

Because getting hard is a physiological response to stimuli. Just like getting wet is. If a woman gets wet during a rape does that mean she consents? If her nipples got hard after undergoing stimulus does that mean she was asking for it and enjoying it? Of course not. If a man is erect it does not indicate consent in much the same way.
/r/MensRights12/04/12 10:31 PM

There is definitely irony in that story but the fact that it takes precedent over the matter of rape is pretty disconcerting. But I have to say it's not only women who perpetuate the myth of male hypersexuality to the point where they believe men cannot be raped. There are plenty of men who project the masculine ideal that any female attention, especially sexual, is sought and cannot feasibly be forced upon men.
/r/MensRights12/04/12 07:59 PM

Better analogy is a man and wife decide to do IVF when man finds out he has testicular cancer. After he recovers from his cancer he is sterile and his wife leaves him and has a child with another man. When he seeks to reproduce using a surrogate mother the ex wife objects. A raped woman never contractually agreed to reproduce. This man went into IVF knowing its only purpose was to reproduce with this woman in the future. He is now retroactively taking back his consent.

Keeping abortions a secret is not a very hard feat and in this case is only made difficult because she told her friend about her pregnancy. The question here is should it be revealed to him by a third party that his child is going to be aborted or already has been? In an ideal world the pregnant woman would tell him out of decency but nothing is ideal about this situation. It truly is a no win.
/r/MensRights12/04/12 09:59 AM

She recently got pregnant. Probably doesn't know if she wants to keep it. is aborting it. What good will telling him do? Since he has literally no say in the matter legally. If this pregnancy was going to be carried to full term then the father has the right to know, otherwise I fail to see any benefit in disclosing it to him.

Thanks. I did a bit of research and it seems the minimum is 8 years. I don't disagree that the juror can judge the evidence against their own definition of rape. For me, real rape with intent and coercion can be deserving of such a sentence but then again that's subjective.
/r/MensRights12/04/12 03:51 AM

I thought the extent of punishment was also decided by the jury, as long as it's within the limitation of the law. I may be wrong. Rape can take so many forms and degrees of violence/coercion. It's not suitable to have a one size fits all punishment for it.

Very much so. But at the same time men need to be ok with asking for help or speaking up when they are being hurt. Society exploits men time and time again because it has trained them to be punching bags.
/r/MensRights11/04/12 09:30 PM

Should I be called to sit on a jury for a rape trial, I vow publicly to vote not guilty, even in the face of overwhelming evidence that the charges are true. Of course it's wrong.

She's saying the premise of motherhood undermines women's ambitions and independence. That the drive for motherhood is part of the definition of femininity, which as she puts it is "self-sacrifice and always putting someone else's needs before your own" and that children is another thing females sacrifice their own aspirations over. In retrospect, it should have been predictable that once it became politically incorrect to expect women to give up their independence for men, children would be the…

ahahaha so it's men's fault that the society expects them to do everything for women what? where did you get that idea? I was referencing disposability and not placing any blame. then a woman can increase and build upon her attractiveness The criteria for which is to look good. Looks melt away with age.
/r/MensRights10/04/12 07:46 PM

He'd be fine but he can increase and build upon his handsomeness, increase his sexual success, and prolong it into his old age. I'm saying men have always had excellence demanded of them while women are just expected to look good. women compete with other women over looks. Men compete with other men over everything. That is the reason alimony existed but alimony laws of today are gender neutral but females make up majority of those who receive them because they earn less than their partner. It shows that most men do not factor in income when it comes to choosing a mate unlike women who often do. The problem with child support arises with the court system following conservative gender roles (rearing responsibility on the mother/financial responsibility on the father.)
/r/MensRights10/04/12 07:59 AM

It's not the woman's fault that the law and family courts strip men of any reproductive or family rights. Charging women won't solve the root problem, changing our courts and legislations will.
/r/MensRights10/04/12 07:47 AM

I don't really agree that being an ugly girls is like being a man. If a man is in the friendzone it's because the girl finds him unattractive. The sole difference is that females judge attractiveness very differently than men do. Much less visual. Even if she 'works for it' the only way she can be more appealing is if she changes her appearance while men have a plethora of options when it comes to increasing their attractiveness.

This is pretty creepy propaganda. removing clit=/= removing clit hood. removing the clit is more like removing penis head if you consider them analogous. However, since female orgasm isn't necessary for reproduction it is not seen as a big deal to remove the clit. Also some of these practices include stitching the vaginal opening, making sex, urination, and menstrual bleeding unsanitary/painful. aesthetically appealing genitalia subjective.

what people get off on sexually is very different from how they want to live their real lives. Incest is a huge part of the eroticism market and is a wildly popular fetish yet you don't see it acted out very often and it remains a taboo. If I went around extrapolating what men want from porn movies I wouldn't get a correct depiction of how men want to lead their lives.

Surrogacy is not a worldwide fertility option. It has been rejected by voters in Sweden, Spain, France, and Germany; for instance, commercial surrogacy has been banned in France, where in 1991 its highest court ruled that “the human body is not lent out, is not rented out, and is not sold.” http://www.stanford.edu/group/womenscourage/Surrogacy/surrogacy_contracts.html edit: that being said you can have children abroad where it is legal and bring them over once they are born.

You could say the same thing about men. Men have rape fantasies. Wanting to be over taken by an attractive woman who is overrun by desire. People want to feel wanted (shocking I know) regardless of gender. This is self evident in our culture which calls a young boy who was having sex with his 30 yo teacher a 'lucky guy' and how females raping men is literally laughed at. I think our current system in school and the workplace hinders creativity for both genders. I wouldn't label it feminization because it assumes organization and group work as a female trait.
