I'm guessing he's complaining more about the "there's a cute girl in my class, how do I talk to her??" posts, not the unsuccessful FRs.

They weren't married, so she wasn't getting anything from him in the breakup. Probably her name was on the lease.

On a major dating site that skews young and progressive, Asian males are less likely to get responded to, even controlling for things like height and education.

The analogy doesn't really make sense. Some countries are similar to each other. Understanding Germans will put me in a pretty good position to understand Austrians. Understanding Chileans or Kenyans won't be nearly as helpful. Similarly, understanding one 20-something at a nightclub will help me understand other 20-somethings at clubs.

If you're referring to the Atlantic article, it was calling guys who work in finance FDBs, not guys who hook up in general.

Maybe you should ask in a place like /r/ainbow? As a straight guy I really have no idea about determining if she might be interested - do you even know that she likes women?

Pretty impressive of Mary Wollstonecraft, to be a Marxist 30 years before Marx was born.

how best to pick them up because they've never tried to pick themselves up There was a link posted to this subreddit that I read last night about a woman who went undercover as a man and tried her hand at seducing women If you're referring to Self-Made Man, then the author did have experience picking up women, seeing as she is a lesbian.

Pronouns don't imply anything about their antecedent (well, aside from gender, but that's just a quirk of the language). "HB" implies that she's a object with a certain level of attractiveness and nothing more. While I don't really agree with the general feminist critique of "objectification" that views it as inherently a bad thing, it is pretty worrying when you're applying it to someone that you say you really like.

Is there a reason you don't drink? There are legitimate reasons not to (family history of alcoholism, a few rare medical conditions) but more often than not young people who don't drink are terrified of letting their guard down, or else think that not drinking somehow makes them superior to others. Neither trait is attractive.

You're missing the point. It may or may not be a useful scale in general, but when you're using it to refer to someone you allegedly have a real emotional connection to, it's dehumanizing and a sign you're having trouble relating to people.

Source? I can't find 18+ numbers, but if you go by the CIA Factbook's 15+ numbers, men are 48.7% of the 15+ population, which is 95% of the number of women.

You should really stop using what you think are the names of fallacies if you don't understand them. Hint: "reducto ad absurdum" isn't a fallacy, it's a pretty common and entirely legitimate method of arguing. Care to explain how "Condemning someone as immoral for wanting a sexual situation that you disapprove of is slut-shaming" isn't a blanket assertion?

Great, you've discovered Baby's First Relativism. Mass human sacrifice "worked" for the Aztecs, chattel slavery "worked" for the American South, and genocide of untermenschen "worked" for the Nazis but we (hopefully) condemn all of these things.
/r/seduction06/07/12 05:35 PM

I don't think that means what you think it means. You made a blanket assertion. I provided an example of "Condemning someone as immoral for wanting a sexual situation that you disapprove," that virtually no one would describe as "slut-shaming." You have three choices: argue that my example doesn't fit your definition, admit that you were wrong, or defend pedophilia, but so far you've done none of them.

Not being OK with a woman making her own sexual choices isn't awesome, it's being a douche. I'm not okay with a woman making the sexual choice to: sabotage birth control, sexually assault someone, have sex with a minor, lie about having an STD, or cheat. I'm also not okay with a man making any of these sexual choices, of course. People have the right to choose, but they don't have the (moral) right to hurt others. Cheating, just like lying about an STD, hurts a third party, and it should be cond…

You got her number ON A DATING WEBSITE. Instead of texting back and forth about inane things, ASK HER ON A DATE, IMMEDIATELY. edit: when you finally do ask her to do something, you make an oblique suggestion that she should come to your house? Seriously? Ask her on a DATE.
/r/seduction06/07/12 07:32 AM

Don't lie. Tell her that you don't see anything serious developing, and if it becomes clear that she's much more into you than you are into her, have the decency to break things off gently.

But why? BECAUSE I ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT ONE OF THESE GUYS, WHEREAS THE OTHER ONE IS JUST SOME RANDOM FUCK. So, it's wrong to steal from your buddy, but robbing a stranger's house is A-OK?

Additionally, people get shot every day in these exact situations, and the perpetrator tends to get a slap on the wrist because of "temporary insanity". I don't think this has happened in any first world country since, I dunno, 1950?

Nonprofits are allowed to keep surplus funds on hand, they just can't pay them out to shareholders or employees. This is almost obligatory for an organization that's dependent on unpredictable fundraising and grants.

"Feminism" is a broad (hurr) and heterogeneous movement and it's nonsensical to attribute any behavior to this movement as a whole. This subreddit is one specific forum run by particular people, and they have the power to get rid of a harmful and foolish slogan.
