That was a very clever (if extreme) summary of the whole mess. Well done. I don’t think you’re entirely wrong although I don’t know I’ve ever heard anyone articulate it that comprehensively. Of course in 1917 most (nearly all) white men were poor and most humans died before 40. There were all-powerful queens, and rich women who were quite content with the situation...

Thats because he’s being sarcastic. EVEN IF she’s right to some extent, the data is super skewed. It’s not like 52-48. And just because a child MIGHT be ABANDONED by its father (why would a judge ASSUME that?) doesn’t justify shortening a mother’s sentencing. What kind of logic is that? But I commend you for your patience and open-mindedness. She softened her aggressive tone largely due to your patience. Kudos
