As I've said before, I just want to grow and learn from this. These conversations, and the many others I'm having, are helping. It's why I prefer to talk about the things I'm going through while I'm going through them versus afterward. You can't change and grow if you bottle it up. How would you recommend that we move forward in such a way that allows us to not take each other for granted? We've done so, so much work already on our relationship and we're both feeling defeated and uninterested in…

That's a great point. I'll do some further reading on this and see how other families, who've dealt with separation, have overcome this. I don't think it's as black and white as it appears - ie: stay together forever just so she doesn't learn that keeping promises is optional. I think staying together in a broken marriage / relationship is actually more detrimental and could teach her what the wrong relationship looks like. Lots to consider though, obviously. This isn't an easy decision for any …

No convincing required. Just sharing the other side and adding to the convo. I actually really, really appreciate the insights. I've also been reading the RPW forum since stumbling across this and there's much to be learned over there, too. I don't need the validation. I just love the conversation and I quite enjoy seeing all sides of this. There are a lot of things my husband and I can both learn from these interactions. That's why I posted it on the Internet - to see if it couldn't help us bot…

I would say that this comment is one of my favourites on this page as it relates to this conversation. My husband and I did play opposite roles sometimes. I was running a business and he came home to be a stay-at-home dad for a time so that we could focus on ensuring our daughter had the best upbringing possible. Somewhere along the way, our role reversal felt more permanent. My feminine energy was coming out less and less and his masculine energy was taking a backseat, too. What he wanted was m…

When we tried an open marriage, he did go on a date with a smoking hot chick and I thought it was great to see him happy. Not every woman is insecure or jealous. I'm neither. I love him so much that I just want him to be really, really happy (and he wants me to be happy, too) so it's nice to see him finding that happiness again. And, see other comments of mine, I have a business so I'll never need to move (it's a virtual company so I can work anywhere) and I make more than enough to survive. Not…

We decided that being happy romantically, and showing our daughter strong examples of what that looks like, was important to us. We weren't acting like partners and we didn't want her growing up picking up on resentment, regret, etc. so we made these decisions before we got to that stage. We both know that 100% is not possible but we've also been together since we were sixteen. We were each other's first boyfriend and girlfriend. It's a lot to assume that we could also grow with each other from …

He was probably 100% happy in his relationship while she was whining she was not. So she tried all this shit and this faggot payed for everything. No, he wasn't happy either. When we were in marriage counselling, we both realized that while we loved each other as friends, we no longer loved each other as lovers / partners. It was mutual. And, see my previous comment, I make more than he does so no, he hasn't paid for everything. [And before that gets misconstrued, it was NEVER a big deal that I …

Hi all, I hesitated replying as I don't think it matters what I say in response to the assumed translation of my words. But, I feel it important to at least have a chance to explain a few things that were very, very misconstrued. I'm also open to answering questions and my husband and I are considering doing a YouTube video on our channel to explain our story. It IS different and I merely used the Chris and Gwyneth example because it was the most relevant thing I could use to explain what we wer…
