I promise you, it hurts now and it's going to hurt for a while but long term you'll be happier not being married to a woman who doesn't want you.

Accidentally on purpose. She might just have done it to torture you. Or she's in a different head space and it shouldn't affect your journey.

I'll be another guy saying "me too." Wife is shit with money, spent every penny like it was burning a hole in her pocket. Sex was because I initiated 99% of the time and faced rejection another 99% of the time. She wondered why I would try to initiate every day, I had to play the odds! Not a lawyer but depending on where you are it doesn't matter much whose name things are in. If you got a mortgage during the marriage it's both of your mortgages. If you default on it it won't matter to her credi…

My stbx also lets out kids have hours upon hours of unsupervised screens. YouTube restrictions are good but you can't force it. Does she listen to what you say about the kids? You need to figure out how to parent together. It sucks but if she won't do anything you don't have much recourse.

Bad sex is an indicator of bad other things. It means you're not communicating your needs to each other, not connecting, not "clicking." It might be a temporary thing as you're working through some issues or it could be the beginning of the end. Sex in my marriage was never "bad" but she clearly was going through the motions for a while. The passion and fun was gone. It became mechanical, just a way to get off. Any attempts to make it passionate or fix things were shot down. But as we explored i…

Today isn't "Christmas adjacent." Sure it'd be a jerk thing to wait until December 23rd but you're six weeks away? Five?

Don't wait. There's always something to delay telling them. You won't ruin the holidays by telling them now, you'll ruin the holidays by pretending everything is OK while it's not. If you want to be a big person tell them and then make sure they still have a reasonably happy holiday. Show them that your family will exist beyond a divorce. That said I'm waiting until after a couple of major family events because we don't want to distract from the main events, but these are once in a lifetime thin…

I probably could have been a better man, she definitely could have been a better wife. I don't know how to handle it either. I am constantly lost in thought. Tried the meaningless sex, alcohol, staring off at windmills. Everything I could think of. I guess it just takes time. Or maybe more meaningless sex and alcohol. I'll try those again.

If you're willing to run away from your family and country after getting married why not just do it now and avoid getting married in the first place? Or face the consequences of saying "no" to your family.

Sometimes attractive women get used to people falling at their feet and they don't develop things like personalities or empathy. Same with attractive men. I'm sure she'll go on to make a lot of people very miserable. Congrats.

Cheapest way to get divorced: Hire a scientist to invent a time machine so you can go back and stop yourself from getting married.

Someone posed it this way on a different sub. If you were on the other side would you choose to be where you are now? If you were single (with whatever other baggage you'd have from the divorce) would you choose to step into your current marriage?

Depends on the state, the lawyers, and what she actually wants. He might be, he might not be. Decades is a very long time.

I feel that one. When the moon is in the 3rd house and Mars is on the horizon... No harm anymore in asking her, "Which one of your hot female friends have you always had a crush on?"

So get divorced, man. Cut her off, enjoy having your freedom and disposable income. Hell, hire a hooker once a week. Sex will be better and it'll be cheaper than having this woman around.

It might be time to try and get her to do the stuff she wouldn't while you were "happily" married.

Back up all of your evidence. I've got a file on my computer, secret online cloud accounts, the works. I'm not even 100% sure I'm getting divorced, just making sure I have everything squared away in case things get ugly. Good luck recovering. Make sure everything else is locked away from her.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
