For what it’s worth I think every guy who has considered approaching a woman has had to deal with exactly that. And like for a guy, it’s totally possible that will happen. And if it does…. So what? Not saying rejection doesn’t suck but like with anything worth doing it’s better to try and fail then never try at all.

I generally feel like a lot of guys would be excited for a girl about as good looking as they are to show interest in them. It isn’t like women where they have their guard up and are hit on pretty often. Even above average looking dudes are likely not used to getting attention unless they are like top 20% or whatever. Either way, what do you have to lose, right?

It’s totally worth approaching in real life in addition to apps. You may be approaching guys “out of your league” though. If you’re a 6/10 you may be showing your friends 7/10 guys who they still find “ugly”. Apparently women find something like 80% of guys “below average” lol. But even if that is true it leaves your options as either settling for guys “in your league” or upping your league and one of the ways to do the latter is getting comfortable approaching guys in real life.

My man I'm not saying you shouldn't be confident despite your height or that your height is something you can improve. I just don't think everything is a shit test to be passed, and sometimes someone is just being a dick and you don't need to tolerate that because you're holding out hope to fuck them.

Man imagine a girl making a post. "I went on a date with a guy. I was fatter than he thought I would be. He obviously made a comment on my weight and insulted my field of study. I passed his tests though and got to fuck him. I'm just so confident!"

They mention life span being taken into account. Any idea how much of this is just women living longer?

Thanks Justin. You likely don't have time for second round questions, but what I mean is that it is not uncommon to see a somewhat prominent feminist or MRA make a public statement met with much outrage. Then other feminists or MRAs will say they do not represent the movement. A criticism is often levied saying other prominent, moderate feminists/MRAs should use their platforms up disavow that individual or their views on the topic to police the movement. Others disagree that any such responsibi…

Thanks Monique. For clarity I did not intend to imply that CAFE was training people to stay in or help foster echochambers.

Justin, there's a lot of talk about policing one's own community. This is doubly true in an area as hostile and prone to echochambers as gender politics. How do you think the line should be drawn between being responsible for calling out bad actors in your own community and simply being responsible for your speech alone? Bonus question: what are your thoughts on milo yiannopoulus Lightening round: any chance this will be good? https://www.google.ca/amp/deadline.com/2017/11/amazon-the-lord-of-the…

Part of the issue is that my job pays pretty well in small towns but in a city it is saturated. So I end up with twice the cost of living and 2/3rds the income. Assuming I even found a job. I may move back eventually but I have loans to pay right now.

Sorry, what are you talking about? How did I downplay violence against men?

True rapists was poorly phrased. I meant those who intend to commit a rape, vs those who were not aware their actions were rape. Both are clearly "true rapists". I am just saying perhaps this could be evidence that ad campaigns can have an effect?

Well, it is meant as education. It isn't meant to change the mind of true rapists. The goal is to educate that a passed out woman is definitely not able to consent, and similar such things. I am kind of shocked that people don't know this, but perhaps a bunch of 18 year old college kids haven't really fully thought about it.

For sure, but these ads are in Vancouver, not in a warzone, and not in a prison. So the rape of men on campuses and the like is what is important, not in these scenarios. Even if the rape of men was reasonably high in these environments though, would the campaign here not still be a net good if it really dropped the overall rate by 10%?

I was wondering what you guys thought of this. I generally dislike this campaign as it seems to unfairly single out men, and reenforces the idea that men are predators and women victims. Rape is a crime which is not evenly divided between genders, but there are still enough male victims and/or female rapists to make it a real concern. However, if these statistics are true and the results truly achieved then I would find it much harder to be outraged. If the ads do truly stem the tide of a 20%+ i…

Men wants the girls they like to act like ladies, and women want the men they like to act like gentlemen. But that doesn't mean that acting like a lady or a gentleman will be what wins a guy or girls over to you in the first place. If you are ugly, a push over, boring, etc. then you still need more to offer.

This is a good point, but certainly goes both ways. It is not like it is unheard of for men to complain about traits in women while being the ones who chose women with those traits.

I think this really sums it up. Too much of this is simply coming down to "unwanted attention = creepy, wanted attention = not so" even if the actual nature of that attention is the same in both cases. Honestly, while I agree if a guy is called creepy often he may want to look into why, at the end of the day I think the vast majority of people in this sub need to worry more about making approaches and putting themselves out there and less about if some woman they don't know will find his hello "…

This is sad but I can't bet behind it as an MRA issue, and these ideas of emotional rape and the crime being equivalent to a serial rapist is just insane.

I don't really think the average women would think this justified either. There is a difference between some women being jerks and mens' rights issues.

I don't really see the issue here. If it is comparing men to animals, it is just a metaphor to get the idea across. The idea itself isn't necessarily pretty, and you might even argue it's validity. But it is in the very least plausible.

Honest question: Is 4 years jail time the standard for committing and filming multiple instances of child rape? It seems bizarrely low.

I don't understand how bail works. How can that woman, after pleading guilty, be let out on bail, surety or not? Is there any reason the boyfriend is in custody but the wife is not? Did someone just not pay his bail? This whole story is so bizarre.

You can remove the woman from your house if she is constantly provoking you and invading your personal space. I don't think slapping her would help the situation in the least though. Promoting that sort of thing gives MRA a bad name.

Well, it isn't necessarily sexist. Sexism is basically discriminating against a someone or something with no reason to do so. For example, if you are making a movie based on World War II, requiring those who audition for the role of Hitler or Churchhill to be white males is not sexist or racist, as there is good reason behind your discrimination. On the other hand, to require those who apply to work at your retail store to be white and male is without good reason, and sexist discrimination. In t…
