At the point of reaching tips 9 to 11, /u/Whisper is suggesting willful ignorance of a crime, which in of itself is also a crime. Being a bystander in the event of a crime while choosing not to call authorities can hold you liable of charges of willful ignorance. But that doesn't mean they can't negotiate. In fact, police unions are known to drive notoriously hard bargains. The results speak for themselves. 1	Ex-post /r/AskFeminists: A Question about Consent I think it's rather troublesome that the criminality of rape is divorced from the behavior of the alleged rapist. By that I mean that it's perfectly possible to have sex without consent without realizing that consent is missing. IE if there's a substantial breakdown in communication through alcohol or whatever, it's possible for someone to get raped without there really being a rapist (someone who intends to commit rape). Here's my last attempt at a reasoned dialogue: the Secret Rape theory in which millions of women are brutally raped then immediately go home or to work without saying anything about it, and never go to the police, make any kind of complaint or tell a single person about it. 5	Incredible Rape Statistics As I said, I think the stats are inflated. 1/4 seems to be WAY too high. But chances are, you've probably known several women (and probably a few men) who have been raped. That doesn't mean you've been lied to, unless of course you go around asking everyone you meet whether they've been raped. That would be a bit odd. 1	Living Together?: Warning Rather sensationalist video. In almost every state in which common law marriages can still be contracted, present intent to marry is a necessary requirement. Living together without more IS NEVER ENOUGH to accidentally wind up married. However, something similar can happen.
