She wants to be friends to continue to get some of the benefits of the marriage, keep you as a back-up, and still play the field. You know who was a good friend? You when she had you as a husband. Tough titties now. Its all or nothing gentleman. All or nothing.

She moved to a different state months ago, she's making out with other women(at the least), and is refusing to talk to you. Yet you're concerned you two are "growing apart"? What in the world are you doing dude? Its over. File on Monday.

"she’s said she feels nothing for me. She can’t even remember a time when she did" Looks like your wife has a case of the "light switch effect". Little homework for ya. It'll help explain some of this. "Am I supposed to just divorce?" Yep! If she wants the divorce, give it to her. It's been a year already dude. No more trying to convince her or carry her while she half-asses this and verbally abuses you. (Yes, telling someone you've spent 14 years with you've never felt anything for them is abus…

She's bread crumbing you to keep you as a back-up. Trust us in this sub when we say that. Gentleman...if they want the divorce, give it to them. None of this "we're still friends" bullshit.

Theres literally no downsides to therapy. That's the great thing about it. Never hurts to try. I did it, it didn't really do much to be honest. Money and getting some friends is what helped me get over the divorce.

I hope for your sake, one day you'll no longer be in love with her.

"I will do what I always said was gonna do, love her..." Don't do that. You deserve better. Also don't follow her boyfriend home. Don't live your life like that. You need to move on, for your own happiness. Once the kids are adults, never speak to her again. Anything else is sad.

Women will absolutely marry...and divorce, if theyre friends are doing it. It's a well known phenomena at this point.

Probably a divorcing woman (even though she says different) trying to justify her decision. Ive seen it more than once on here.

They're not. I linked it but married women do consistently report being happier married than single.

Women tend to be happier married than single. https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/5-types-of-people-who-can-ruin-your-life/202403/is-marriage-good-or-bad-for-women You confused the stat that single women are happier than single men. Which yes, that is true. Is there more nuance with women on being single vs married? Sure, that's a fair point. Also, reddit loves to quote one study that made the rounds a few years back. That single women are just basking in happiness compared to married women.…

There's a reason we say "divorce ruined my life" instead of "divorce was a mild inconcenience". Youre not even two years out. It took me like 4 before I started feeling better. I'm 5 and half (officially) divorced. I'm not going to lie and say its like a normal break-up (see above paragraph), divorce really is a brutal thing. It takes years. But I'm entirely convinced I can be just as happy without her as i was with her. No doubt in my mind. Youll get there too.

"However somewhere in the journey, we forgot that we own the ride, not them" Hell yeah brother. We win in the end. I truly believe that.

Idk man, better to get his balls back at 18 months then later. There was a dude who commented on here and was coming up on 3 years getting absolutely fleeced. Same thing. Seperated but still married. And his tone sounded like he was still wallowing and not ready to do anything.

Subsequent marriages have higher divorce rates than 1st ones. So those who divorce thinking the next marriage will be better... now if you genuinely think as a guy you can make it being single. Then by all means. Do it yesterday.

"After I accepted this most recent request for divorce, she has since been asking (not quite, but almost begging) for me to reconsider. " Now that youve called her bluff she's trying to back out? Two scenarios are going to happen. You're going to divorce now. Or you'll fold, and she'll use you for X amount of years to prepare, then divorce you then. Sounds like she's not emotionally/financially ready to divorce. So shell use you for more time, then do it.

For the same reason lesbian marriages have the highest divorce rates I'd imagine.

Women have considered marriage an at-will situation for decades. Guys need to realize we are batting from way behind on this stuff. Here's a good example. My coworker knew in year 5 she wanted to divorce. Used the guy for another 4 years, then divorced in year 9 when all her ducks were in a row. Literally 45% of the marriage done in bad faith. You know how many married guys would be shocked to hear that? On the flip side, she could tell that story in front of a hundred women and it would barely …
