Well, that seems like an acceptable response to me if you're living in a sane legal and cultural environment. So it's also the response I would expect from someone who hasn't considered the problems with what marriage means in the 21st century (and hasn't been burned by marriage either). That doesn't mean it's the right answer, but it's not exactly baffling either.

Just fucking do it. Go overboard at first, then instead of quitting entirely, slowly back off until it's a more sustainable habit. Have a plan for recovering from failure, so that one day of slacking doesn't turn into a month of slacking. If you need more prodding, check out 30 Days of Discipline (you can also find it as a torrent if you're too cheap to invest $10 in your future). EDIT: in case it's not clear, sustained motivation comes from consistently taking action, not the other way around. …

What this means is that a woman always has more assumed credibility than a man. A woman's word is always seen as being worth more than a man's. Not too long ago, relatively speaking, it was the opposite. And while that wasn't justice either, it was probably better than today's status quo, since even then a man's word was still suspect. What we really need is for more people to understand the different kinds of lies each sex is likely to tell and the differing motivations behind them, but for tha…

Just finished it; definitely one of the most useful books I've ever read. It's supposed to mostly be a reference book but I suffered no boredom reading it cover-to-cover.

It's also why so many of us needed TRP to snap out of fantasy land. The truth was all around us the whole time, but it was wisely disguised to seem less offensive. So many of us were (or still are) socially thick, and we needed help to start reading between the lines.

Women hate TRP because we talk straight instead of in code. If you wrap it up in prettier language you can put it on every radio station in America. Like the song "Restless Heart," about refusing to commit to a duplicitous slut. Note how much more palatable it is to say someone has a restless heart than it is to call them a slut, but it's the same thing.

That's not how brotherhood works. If you were trying to sleep with my girl that's already a betrayal even if you didn't succeed.

There's a time to say it's her fault and a time to say it's your fault. It's not about absolving the woman of her actions, it's about taking responsibility for yourself. Not sure if Stovie85 had the more useful perspective this time, but making it into a problem with the whole TRP community doesn't seem right to me.

I can easily see how someone would get the wrong impression about this subreddit. A lot of guys here just need to vent and don't necessarily mean everything they write, and a lot of guys are new and still trying to swallow the pill. Reading TRP literature is pretty important if you want to be able to tell what's what around here.

Yep, most of them don't believe the feminist rhetoric. They can't speak out against it though, because to be non-feminist (not even anti-feminist) is to be a bad person. So the reason they're only feminist when it suits them, and not feminist all of the time, is because they don't really believe in feminism. You see the same thing in many "religious" people who are only Christian when it suits them. The true believers are few and far between. EDIT: Well, there's that and also the fact that no on…

Clearly you haven't read the posting guidelines, or you wouldn't have been surprised about any of that.

Yeah, I've never seen a single person on RP advocate murder. I have, but they were promptly downvoted into oblivion.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
