Is there any evidence such bias exists? I definitely get that argument and I was just offering my theory but I find it weird people will ignore more mundane explanations for things and instead focus on the more politically charged explanation. Maybe there's bias, maybe more women don't want to do it, maybe it's just random. But without any evidence of bias all those explanations are equally viable.

I just offered that as a theory. But the examples youre providing applied to the population at large and were a matter of gaining equality under the law so its bizarre to compare those issues to the gender composition of a very small section of the job market, movie directors. Why would you trivialize the fight for women's suffrage and equal pay by comparing them to something so niché and small?

Maybe fewer women want to do it. Edit: grammar

It's odd how they very specifically referred to woke activism and you somehow misconstrued them to mean all activism.

Yeah I know what you mean. I live in a fairly small town and its not so much that I don't feel completely safe but that I have my guard up anytime I'm alone at night. Just as a precaution.

I've been going to the top of the month and all time and just devouring post after post. So happy to be here.

Broad City is great, very underrated show. I actually really like the humor of Girls as well, regardless of the politics of the show.

Uh black guy here. I think the reason so many black men turn away from the Men's Rights movement is because of the idea in popular culture that black men are scary and dangerous to women, even more so than men of any other race. This is especially illustrated in the lyrics of hip hop music. So for the most part black men embrace feminism as opposed to Men's rights to soften their perception in the eyes of others.
