You're right in everything you're saying. I don't think anyone should be punished for something they didn't do, even if I don't give a rat's ass about them. But it does seem to me that Depp and Heard are the type of people who are, let's say, chaotic? Flamboyant? Dramatic? I get the sense that they are no strangers to bad relationships, and toxic partners.

I agree with most of what you're saying. This sort of thing is exactly what started the "me too" movement. But I don't think the Depp-Heard case will be a watershed moment, socially or legally. This won't be a case that changes how (false) allegations are received by the public or by prosecutors. It's a case that I know about only because Amber Heard and Johnny Depp are celebrities. I don't care if Johnny Depp doesn't get to make his stupid pirate movies anymore. There are cases of false allegations everyday, across the nation. Find one of those cases and champion it. Dennis Leary earned a boatload of shit because he stole jokes. It happens. Amy's comedy is lame; I don't care if she's a woman; I don't care about alt-right, feminism, etc; she ain't funny. Period. Beyond that I don't care about her. Whoopee to Schumer selling out arenas. Popularity does not equal quality. It never has.
