Trends are pulled by extremes. It is easy to spot extremes. 25+ partners (say, hypothetically) is revealing of something. But no one can place a line between the virtuosity of 2,3,4 partners, etc. This is still the majority of the population. I think our disconnect is in how strictly you’re rationalizing humanity. I wasn’t saying that you don’t have grounds for disparaging trends of behavior which are enmeshed in immoral outcomes, I was saying that the one particular point you’re fixating on: quantity of sexual partners, is not as reliable of an indicator for the majority of the population. I don’t understand, these are articles. The first describes a link between prior sexual activity and infidelity ... but then that would imply that a sexual history of multiple partners would be a bad thing. Is that what you’re saying?
This is a representative of a larger trend toward narcissism and alienation in relationships. This is not unique to the domain of human sexuality. Ultimately, its the marriage rates that are important. One can recognize the value of marriage in the objective. However, you don’t have the moral authority to argue what’s right or wrong in the general population’s sexual behavior, at least not specifically the lifetime history in quantity of sexual partners
