It literally says “clean before each load.” Can he read?

I think it’s part of the process. When I first found FDS, I balked at blocking. I thought about how rude it was, I felt it was egotistical (in fact it’s the opposite, and the men are the ego-filled ones for harassing), I thought it was an over-the-top punishment (it’s not a punishment or too much, to deny people my time when their intent is to harm, it’s self-preservation), and it took a while for the lessons to sink in. Because sometimes it dors feel good, to know there’s a guy chasing you even…

It sounds almost like they were trained, either intentionally or culturally. As an American, maybe we lack the matriarchal support structure that other countries (with much longer histories) have. I know I never had “man-handling” lessons from women in my family, and that seems common in my friends of other cultural backgrounds. Thank you for sharing your family’s story with us, so that we can all learn from these two queens!

It’s a pretty common abuse tactic, they’ll threaten to do a bad thing and blame their actions on you if you don’t do whatever they want to keep them from doing the bad thing. It plays on the assumption that women are empathic and want to limit suffering, so we will take some suffering on ourselves to limit greater suffering on others.

The red flag here is that these men are using their abuse as a tool to manipulate others, instead of healing. They have made the choice- conscious or not- not to heal themselves, because they believe that manipulating women into potential pity sex/situationships/etc is a higher priority. Do men get abused and hurt? Yes. A HVM response is to seek the help and treatment he needs to heal. The LVM response is to put his trauma on women in a manipulative and sadistic manner. Women get abused too. Par…

“I’d like to hear a woman’s perspective” is scrote for “I’d like a victim for my diatribe about why you’re wrong.”

Definitely a red flag if someone is punching down instead of either trying to help or just leaving well alone. In most of these cases, a grown man even engaging with that sort of content in the first place is a red flag. If it even shows up as recommended content for him, given how omniscient tech is becoming, that can be a red flag these days.

A man who’s scared of high maintenance women has probably already realized his own neediness, decided his needs should be the only ones who matter, and is trying to shame you and those around you into getting on board with his decision.

I really needed to see this today. Thank you, the perspective helped a lot. I’m still learning how to trust myself when my intuition spots these things and seeing it spelled out externally is just what I needed to take the action that’s probably been necessary for a while. tl;dr thank you for sharing love, seeing this lit a fire under my ass to do something about it!

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
