The problem with using the term self-"improvement" is you expect yourself, like you did, to feel somehow "better" after you've been doing it a while. And sure, if I compare my life now to when I first started around these circles it's relatively better in many ways, but I don't feel any better. I'm still myself. So really what you're doing is you're exploring things about yourself and finding out what you want, what you like and what you value in order master yourself. Hence I like to think of i…

That's when you say "Oh sorry, I got distracted by your eyes for a second." and give her a hinting smirk.

Reminds me very strongly of Theodore Roosevelt on youth: "Youth I want to see you game, boys, I want to see you brave and manly, and I also want to see you gentle and tender. Be practical as well as generous in your ideals. Keep your eyes on the stars and keep your feet on the ground. Courage, hard work, self-mastery, and intelligent effort are all essential to successful life. Character, in the long run, is the decisive factor in the life of an individual and of nations alike."

If they cringe when they hear their name they're probably not confident enough to be in a healthy sustained relationship, just my 5 cents.

Love and connection is one of the basic human needs. I think OP has pointed out one of my main issues with this subreddit as I've grown and I think keeping the whole "cold-hearted non-needy" attitude of "#closing" bitches is just immature.

The first time I tried cold approach I felt embarrassed for a whole week afterwards. Now I laugh my ass off every time I think about it.

A shit test is simply the girl projecting her insecurities onto you. Joking about it is not the only way of dealing with this, basically what you need to do is somehow make the girl know that you don't consider this insecurity to be an issue, validating both of you in the process.

My personal favorite is tyler's "Brain + lane" talk from the freetour in hawaii, hilarious and deeply fascinating as well.

It's really dorky but I like to think of it like when you start an RPG and you get a certain number of attribute points to spread out. Wow, this is exactly how I think about it!

I'm just speculating here but the reason he feels more depressed might be because when you're a virgin many people have this golden fantasy of what sex will be like, that they keep dreaming about every time they fantasize. Once you've actually had sex that dreamy fantasy goes away and you don't have this goal to work towards anymore, unless you make your own one like bang 100 chicks.

Making eye contact in the right manner is a way to show you're interested in the respective person. I used to think it was douchebaggery too but really it's just showing you're socially competent.

Depends on how you define success but yeah it's a pretty rough generalization.
