1	Women suffer much more work stress than men, says psychiatrist: "Mohring called for companies to offer women more flexible working and better career security and progression." Sounds like special pleading. I'm not arguing that at all, I'm saying if an employee needs to make an accommodation at her place of work, it might be best for the employer to make a compromise with the employee. So my comment only applies to the fire fighting part and this is just some content we covered in my Industrial/Organization Psych course. We were discussing fair hiring practices and that discriminating against women for things like this didn't hold up. The reason being was that duties like these are so rare in the firefighting field that it wasn't a requirement that would be justifiable in not allowing women to be hired.
