Sure he could. I get the feeling you're either non-American or from a progressive city. Dancing to me, and to many guys I think, hence so few being into it is a walk on the tight rope in between masculine and feminine. If you don't do the right thing many people(including women) will judge you accordingly. That's kind of the point of the song. She's able to have such an uninhibited attitude in the club because all options for the night lie open to her. The guy in the song isn't afforded that luxury, because you can't have a fun night of dancing(at least not in American society, maybe Europe is different) without being thought of as gay.
