1	Results from an online dating experiment: I'd chalk that up to increased availability of travel, both interstate and international, and the rise of the internet. In the early 1900s, I imagine you usually married someone you grew up with, or maybe a few towns over. Now it's not out of the question to board a plane and fly halfway around to world to meet someone you met over the internet. Even women who have no interest in having children are subconsciously looking for a mate with superior genetic characteristics to pass on to her offspring. 3	My local police update page posted about a woman who had been charged and refused bail for murdering a man, most of the replies were like this! I don't think they had to pay anything. Someone I'd never met before in my life accused me of "terroristic threat," but I never found out what I was alleged to have said or when. I went before a judge with an attorney (which was probably a bit of an overreaction, but at this point I wanted no chance that I was going to lose the case and get a record) and my accuser didn't show up. Seems like Ireland is taking steps in the right direction.
