Calmly modeling appropriate behavior to your children is the right thing to do. Who wants to live in a house with yelling all the time. You’re teaching your kids how to take control o their emotions and modeling to them how to raise their children. Tell you wife that you’re adults, and not going to yell like toddlers. You’re on the high road. Keep it up. Keep explaining to your wife.

In my experience, you’ll have ups and downs. When I’m feeling blah and my wife isn’t responding the way I want, I do a little reading, or listen to a podcast on a topic to keep give my some motivation and remind me of the mind frame. Get in the habit of checking yourself. For instance, after work, on your way home, go through a little check list to make sure you’re in the right mindset.
