Deus ex style equipment and ability upgrades, fallout style world where the only npcs that matter are the quest givers, the verticality and level design of dying light, and the looter shooter elements of borderlands.

Mostly bullshit. I would say in most situations it’ll come out. I was cheated on 6 times by one woman and 3-4 times by another. In both situations they became overconfident and complacent and slipped up. However in some more serious situations where they only have to stick to one lie they might be able to hide it indefinitely like the classic “It’s your baby”.
