A lot of this is because almost all people are ignorant of the law. at least in the US i can stand on a sidewalk and legally take pictures of your house, pictures of you through the window, your kid, whatever i want. the "80+%" was because at least i feel that doing the act is worse than filming it, and you get 10 years in a plea bargain for doing the act, and 50 years going to trial for filming it. so she got a sentence that is 80% shorter than his, and the + is because i think it should have been longer. you are right though he could have broken other laws, and most laws are dumb and are modifiers; maybe he had a spoon in his pocket that added a mandatory 20 years to the sentence or something.

We can either have equality or admit that women and men are different and treat them differently. What we have now basically boils down to men getting screwed wherever there is an imbalance (either there is equality or men get screwed). Most attacks against cops aren't due to some month long planning process with charts and graphs in their basement. I'd also add that many times situations are escalated by the police to the point where someone will be hurt. I would actually guess that > 90% of officer deaths were completely avoidable and happened because they were flexing their authority, not because they were "protecting the public".

It isn't so absolute; in general i would say that you are correct, but there are many female scientists (for example) who have helped their fields tremendously. yup, unless we are going to call the republicans and the democrats "authoritarian" and drop the misused "liberal" and "conservative", we need to (in discussions) use what the common people use.
