I'm 32; my high school English class had an entire section on holocaust literature. With a project at the end. The teacher even had the previous "Excellent" projects displayed throughout her classroom the entire year, including my favorite: A "bloody", tattered t-shirt with the Star of David hanging from the ceiling. That would've been another solution to the problem. Most likely, the school didn't want to have a "parent-child" dance or a "parent-child" baseball game, and just stopped paying for both events. Again, as the article states, this was just stopping the school district from paying for these events, not prohibiting them, making them illegal, or otherwise banning them. Regarding paedophiles, I don't have any particular input. While you're correct, I think a lot of people aren't making the distinction between the protected classes when talking about employment (that big long list) and the protected classes when talking about public accommodations (like a theater). Specifically, the classes protected in theaters are: Race Color Region or National Origin And even then, those don't apply to "private clubs," so you could still have a "white guys only" club.
