Men need to also comprehend that a woman's sexuality is HER OWN THING and is not simply a reflection of some level of objective attractiveness in the men she encounters. It is part of her human experience and will be influenced by ALL facets of her life, most of which have nothing to do with the man she is dating/interacting with.

Because you are literally framing being "good" (kind, considerate, genuine) as a "tactic". Don't you understand that the intention there negates the "goodness"?

The angling for sex thing is really overlooked. I am extremely empathetic but have found in the past that when I give comfort/intimacy to a man in a platonic way they will always try to parlay it into something sexual. If men want to have feminine energy around them in their life they have to allow us to reveal that intimate part of ourselves without abusing that openness to try and get sex.

You're just suggesting that women fight with other women who they consider "lesser" because they are bringing down the group in the eyes of men. But that's the thinking of a male brain because you are much more primed to attack and sabotage one another, and women (at least in this current society) have found it safer and more beneficial to all raise one another up.

Are you seeking out female peers (universally ugly and autistic) to date? Are you also willing to overlook these things?

So basically you are illustrating that women will try to uplift and support when one of their own is unlucky in love, whereas males use the same circumstances as a way to deride their peers. Just like with arguments about violence and rape, the source of the problem is still with the thinking and behavioural patterns of men.

I studied communication science and I have never encountered anyone espousing the opinion that male communication is inherently disrespectful. What a depressing view of your own sex.

I mean you can, sure. But I'm stating that in terms of hormones and sexual appetite, women in that phase of life are actually more like young men, whereas young women are often still extremely self conscious. I guess it depends a lot on what you enjoy, though - a lot of men seem to view women as a penis receptacle rather than an active participant in sex.

Also a woman's peak sexual appetite occurs as she is heading into perimenopause (likely the body's way of getting maximum potential from the remaining eggs) so the husband gets to enjoy the horny 40 year old wife, too.

It's very religion-driven (all of them tbh) to have men and women so sequestered and their roles so specifically delineated. It doesn't even make utilitarian sense and is more about performing rituals and routines.

I mean, you have literally just illustrated exactly why women fought so hard for equal access to work and pay. I don't think this is the "gotcha" that you think it is.

Your perspective is a PERCEPTION. You are not an all-seeing god. If you have taken the "bear debate" that personally I think you should do some examination into why it bothers you rather than concerns you.

The way in which you speak about women is the reason why you cannot have your pick of the litter. You are basically admitting that you do not see them as human but rather an acquisition that you'd like to assess against a checklist of what you personally want.

You have no actual basis upon which to draw this comparison in quantity, it is based purely on your perception. And anyway, if you want a comparison that has more crazies you can sub in anti vaxxers. Do their wild claims have any bearing on actual vaccination science?

Do we consider flat earth conspiracy theorists online to be contributing to the academic body of physics research? So why would random online comments bear any weight on how academic feminist theory is interpreted?

If the children in wheelchairs were, like, screaming at the other kids and purposely driving into them or trying to ruin their ability to learn at school, I would think there would be pretty swift action taken and it would not be excused.

How much of that, though, is due to assigning everything related to reproduction and childcare as being the responsibility of women? Women do not choose to have the reproductive system we do, and society values healthy reproduction of the species, so surely these should never be considered a "female" expense.

Yep, and that's why women fought so hard to have things like an autonomous vote and the ability to earn her own money, get a mortgage, etc. We don't want to rely on men. And that has made some men angry because, as much as the rhetoric in the past used to be that a man is taking on the burden of a wife (the rationale for a dowry), when women have full and equal access to society it has shown that really the men were the beneficiaries of "traditional" arrangements and relied on collectively gasli…

This is a big thing that I think Millennial males in particular are realising - that a lot of them simply cannot afford a younger spouse unless she is willing to work more as she advances in her career too. I think that is why there is some anger towards feminism, as they correlate the rise of women in the workforce with the decrease in real wages for labour.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/04/26 05:16 AM

See I don't get all the feeling sorry for yourselves thing that men do in this regard. Do you think everyone gets to experience what it is like to be so good looking that the opposite sex falls at your feet? And why is being attractive put on such a pedestal? Do you ever lament the fact that you don't get the experience of having someone being indescribably grateful to you for saving a life, like a doctor/surgeon? Or being able to impress people by being an amazing dancer? It makes me think that…

I'm someone who is old enough to have seen the long-term results of the men who slept around in their early adulthood and are now in their mid thirties and realising that women who want to settle down and find someone to be a husband and father are much much much more aware of the type of dating history red flags to look for. Unfortunately, engaging in this behaviour over and over for such a long time is going to have a marked impact on your social and emotional development, likely dampening the…

I believe the ultimate male fantasy is that a woman is generally a prude and rejects men easily but is a ravenous sex queen for him alone. It's some Nosferatu type shit. Also why the teacher/librarian stereotype exists.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/01/26 04:42 PM

Maybe that is because historically women have had to learn how to adapt our behaviour to fit in socially with men, hence even when single they can navigate various levels of relationships with men. These lonely men generally have serious problems connecting with people, with women seeming even more elusive. Honestly the most helpful things for these guys would be to hang out with female family members from the same generation and just get better at banter and hanging out with women.

Balding and other age-related vanity concerns can be subsidized when everyone who needs it has received adequate dental treatment. This is comparatively so simple and has an even more significant impact on quality of life.

This post is so embarrassing
/r/PurplePillDebate08/12/25 02:06 AM

Since it is drawing its conclusions based on existing data and anecdotes, I imagine that the crime stats around things like child sexual abuse would be coming into play (that it is primarily perpetrated by men and is prevalent in many male-centric spaces and organisations e.g. religion). That would be a pretty strong influence on making this decision especially since there is concrete data around it.

Neurodivergent girlie and for the first time in my life I have men falling all over me and it's literally because I leaned into my weirdness, became unapologetically myself, and embraced my savant skills. Turns out a lot of those things are pretty impressive, especially as you get older and more and more people lose talents and abilities, it becomes a strength to show that you can have a longstanding passion for something.

Hmmmm to reduce sexuality to hormones is to assume human beings don’t have the capacity for more complex thought. Attraction is not simply hormones, or at least not just the hormones that control libido. Men might desire sex at a higher frequency but you speak as though we are less evolved animals without any ability to control or moderate our desires.

Right here is where you betray that there is an element of being degraded that you wish to see these women suffer. Very cruel.

So it’s about feeing like you’re in an intimate relationship? Because you’re not, and therein lies the problem. You are diverting your attention away from real, in person, women to engage in a parasocial relationship and then spending money to maintain that facade. It’s not mentally healthy behaviour.

Stop viewing women as the prize you ought to be rewarded for performing some set of actions. If you can’t do that then you’re not seeing them as equal human beings and therefore undoubtedly you are not coming across as appealing to women.

Do you not understand that males have a natural physical advantage over women and therefore have always held the power when it comes to organisation of the society, even if there was not a name for it? Do you think that before land-owning that people did not have dominion over certain areas based on 1) physical might and 2) access to resources which is dictated by whomever has physical might? Do you understand that the process of procreation is dangerous for females and inherently puts them in t…

“Virgin” is not some sort of protected class or even really a clear term. You do know that virginity and what constitutes sex can be different for everyone? A lot of these “virgin” men could probably get some sort of sexual encounter (not necessarily penis in vagina, though, and this is the thing that feminists care about because it is the feeling of entitlement to put your body inside a woman’s that causes abusive dynamics). Stop pressuring women into that and you’ll also be more likely to make…

They have managed to paint education as somehow being a bourgeois luxury rather than a human necessity. Being educated and a critical thinker is going to be more and more necessary in an increasingly AI-filled world, as well as having good social instincts.

Because starting in childhood, those boys who DO participate get ostracised and bullied by other boys for “being a girl” or “gay”. It is literally a social issue that you need to work out amongst yourselves. Men whinging about this to women constantly comes across the same as if women were blaming men for inter-relational female bullying.

This is a complete re-writing of history. Society is generally considered to be the mechanisms that keep things working: governmental power, owning land and resources, power within religious institutions, power over whom is allowed to be educated. These things have always been under the control of men, and all those other things you talk about women having dominion over (social activities, family and friend connections, rituals that bring these groups together, etc) are generally things that wom…

Yep, or even in a non sexual context I wonder how they would enjoy life if they had to worry about people trying to surreptitiously shove their fingers into their mouths no matter how gross they are.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/25 11:54 PM

But that’s because they are just mapping their own horniness onto the concept of being able to easily acquire sex and have absolutely no empathy or understanding for what it is like to exist in this world with people wanting to put their body INSIDE yours constantly, and the reality that they would do so without consent if they could.

You do understand that women’s biology necessitates a role in society that has nothing to do with whether we choose it or not completely? If women do not bear children the human race dies out. Surely you have the ability to think beyond what is immediately in front of your eyes and think about deeper concepts. Talk to some women who want to be child free before you start assuming that we have the same level of autonomy over our roles and the roles of our BODIES in society.

Well I feel sad for them and for you that you still don’t seem to have empathy for the fact of the society we live in which is male-centric and requires women to conform to these predetermined expectations

Your third paragraph is actually quite astute and this is where a huge amount of the miscommunication comes in where both sides are misreading each other as disinterested. I am a very friendly and flirty person but also kind of shy with guys I actually like.

You don’t know anything if you think the make up and eyelashes are the work. I am talking about body hair removal, skincare, extensive hair care (which we keep long to appeal to men, not for our actual comfort), nails being maintained, constantly worrying about every aspect of our bodies (which I do think can be just as influenced by other women), and even just the way we are trained to present our personalities as winsome and appealing to males lest we get called bitches.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/25 02:34 PM

The fact that you think that women don’t have to put in as much effort shows that you do not understand women and this is probably what your issue is. Women are trained to start grooming ourselves for the male gaze before we even hit puberty. Men who have been raised in male dominant households are often very unaware of how much they rely on their mothers to keep them presentable and are ignorant about what their female peers are going through. One year of working on yourself is actually nothing…

You’re basically saying that average guys don’t put in enough effort to be presentable compared to the average woman which is TRUE and I do not understand why men in this category don’t focus on self improvement instead of getting angry at women for wanting to be with men who are physically appealing.
