I thought that on several ocassions throughout my classes, however it is not really true and accurate, at least not in Australia. I have done several placements in nursing homes, and ALL of the residents loved me, none of them minded that I was male, or young (18 y.o). That's a shame, I am also a male RN, and most of my female collegues were very supportive when I brought this issue up recently. Most females in nursing are very supportive of male RN's and would never say something as stupid as this woman, however you do on the ocassion get an extremely sexist nurse who won't allow you to do procedures, etc just for being male

I am a nurse myself, and on no level did this offend me, I found it rather hilarious and life-like :) I gave you an upvote for the thought, but really I don't see your point. This phenomenon is already making itself well at home in Australia. It is sad that society has been conditioned to be like this. There was a facebook post by one of my peers who has a child who was lost in a huge department store, and a very old man (85+)took his hand and went to find his mother who then proceeded to say "Get your dirty penis hands off my child!"
