A lot of people are going to say movies are "bad dates" because you can't talk - but if she's coming over and you get to pick the film, go for something you can talk over and riff on together. Think old movies or cult classics.

I just ended things with this interesting girl - while we'd meet up once every few weeks and have a great time together, she would go through these insecure moods where she would accuse me of ghosting if i didn't respond to a text in a day. Recently, she started to gaslight me, so I got the fuck out of dodge. Do what's best for you, my dude.

While I personally wouldn't open with ethnicity, I definitely would've gotten to the point. You clearly lost her interest in that big paragraph. A "hey listen, I'm much better at distracting you in person. Let's meet up this weekend" would've sufficed.

There are 7.5 billion people on Earth, do you think we all share the same relationship morals? Personally, I'd be perfectly fine if my SO wanted to post pictures of herself. All you can do is communicate with her and try to understand each other's point of view.

Hey fellas, NYC here too. I see the same thing though i'm not sure if it's women or just NYC'ers in general. I think people just default to thinking they're being sold/asked for something so maybe your approach is a little invasive. Try a casual wave and eye contact to get their attention before approaching. Sidenote: just deleted all the apps to force myself to approach in person more. DM me if ya'll ever wanna go out and practice.

This is super correct.

Consider doing improv, or at least thinking of improv tactics. Fuel a shared narrative by asking open-ended questions or making potent, escalating statements.

why not approach the group as a whole first? Just be social, say hello to everyone. Practice your group game. You also tell if she's remotely interested in you from the encounter.

How good is your fashion sense/wardrobe? I'm 5'7" and sometimes self-conscious of my height, but when I'm dressed sharp, no one cares at all.

I'm super new to the DM game, but Saturday (at 11pm) I commented a question on her recent photo, she replied, I continued the conversation naturally via DM, got her number, met her at 11:45, and made out shortly after. I think it's all about brevity.

Solid point. When I was young, I would wait to close dates with a kiss, and there was no more additional escalation because it was the end, and it really stalled things back to zero. Counter to that and to your point, recently I met a girl in the park, kissed her midway through our conversation. Surprised, she asked "did you just kiss me?" and I said "No, of course not" - and that was the beginning of tons of fun sexual tension for the rest of the day.

Maybe you're answering the questions too seriously, which def should be done in person. If she asks what you like to do for fun say "hunt for Atlantis" - build a narrative. Show her you are carefree and fun, not at an interview.

Here's a few things that I would be thinking about if I was in your shoes. 1, Make physical contact from the start - give her a hug at the door. 2, she is in your domain - maintain a confident frame by leading. "I picked out some wine for us - red or white" is better than "So, do you want some something to drink?" 3, Stong eye contact and smiling. 4, play a game - truth or dare is good, maybe play "never-have-i-ever" and you take a drink each time you guess something correctly. 5, kino. 6, wake …
