I like the actionable tips here. What's a good way to switch topics + how do you come up with topics to switch to? I feel like my mind goes blank a lot.

Also, the title is inconsistent. It should either be Secrets to Modern Women's hearts or Secrets to a Modern Woman's Heart. this. not sure i can trust a writer who has such a glaring grammatical error in their title

A growth mindset is the most important one you can have for game, and arguably, for life.

Check out local spas/beauty salons. One of the ones in my city offers a acne clear facial treatment series and that worked out really well for me.

Thanks for sharing the personal example - and congrats on the new gig! Re: rejection - yeah I see what you mean from "troubleshooting". I guess the biggest obstacle to looking at it this way is the initial pain from rejection and being able to bounce back quickly from it.

It's closely related to the victim mindset. What started my shift in mindsets is when I decided I'd be a victim to nothing, or nobody. I'd shun the label systematically. And instead of blaming, I'd see how I could turn those shortcomings into potential actions that I could benefit from. Then shortcomings become opportunities. Then the mindset turns around. Really like this thought - can you elaborate a bit more? What's an example of a shortcoming that you turned into a potential action/opportuni…

Canned openers are unnecessary and crippling to "game" over time. I don't use them. I use situational openers based on observation skills. I feel like I can never come up with observations on the spot. Can you share some examples of ones you have used? Maybe I'm being too picky about what's appropriate.

don't worry I'm not selling anything This line is actually really great. As someone living in a major metropolitan area with a lot of panhandlers and people handing out fliers or trying to sell stuff, everyone has their guard up.

this is fucking awesome. great writeup. how did you get to this point? I learned to just be present and comfortable. Particularly this. I get anxious and in my head and figuring out what to say next. How did you learn to be present/comfortable?

Serious question- how do you justify to people why you don't have a drink? I'm allergic to alcohol so I don't drink at all but when I'd go out to bars I'd always get shit from people for not drinking or not having a drink in hand. As a result, I've avoided bars completely.

Third, every time you leave the gym "anchor" that feeling of confidence. For instance, every time I have a good workout or do anything really good I touch a specific part of my forearm (you can do this anywhere). I've done this so many times that if I touch that part of my forearm, I'm immediately put into super state. Best piece of advice here. I need to start doing this.

Spend every there focusing on bettering your voice and speaking style. Not OP, but I'd be interested in some resources for working on my voice. Can you share some resources?

I think many people in this sub understands the basic theory. It's the action part that's difficult. Like for myself, I want to be "real", but the reality is that in social situations, I freeze up often and can't think of anything to say. "They say whatever is in their mind" - my mind is literally frozen. I know I need to relax, and I'm working on it. But just saying, I don't know if many people here have as much of an issue understanding the concepts as it is actually implementing real change.

I won't go as far as that other guy that said fuck your blog but I will say that this post seemed a bit fluffy. Summary: Every day, write down: * 5 things that make you awesome * 5 things you're grateful for * at the end of the day write down what you did today

In the morning they are late to work, around lunch they are busy eating their lunch or they are with their coworkers and not want to be seen as sluts giving out their phone numbers, in the evening they are doing errands etc... those were my excuses when I first started. Damn. Well when you put it like that... yeah I guess then my question would just be how do you tell if someone is approachable or do you just not care and approach everyone regardless? So going home from metro + grocery shopping …

the best opportunities are right after work. Question on this part - I find that after work people are tired, doing errands, wanting to go home, etc. Where do you find the most receptivity after work?

clarification: by belt loops do you mean behind the belt itself, or do you mean the loop on the jeans so your fingers would be in the loop between jeans and belt?
