This is a great recap on critical theory's impact. I'm 26 myself and glad I had an inner voice to steer me clear of these destructive ideas during uni. Thanks for sharing.

I'd say give it a shot man, at 18 she's old enough to make a sober judgement, but you will have a gap in maturity and worldview. You have to be the leader and the impetus is on you to guide her to the right values. It sounds like there's a lot of potential for something lasting and good here, remember to keep your intentions pure.

Well you're not entirely wrong but I think the issue is multifaceted. In my situation I had only just met this girl prior to quarantine and we had a couple of great dates but didn't really take it further yet. She had also made plans to move away and wasn't sure when she would return. Those were likely factors, but her wording when she called me to break it off was along the lines of "you seem really ready to commit and I'm just not at the same level right now". To me that seemed like a nice way…

This was exactly my mentality with a girl I was seeing and she broke it off. Just FYI there is a fine line between being interested and being needy. And I was video calling her just once a week.
