Married an Italian, and this was also my experience. Also to add that for him at least, buying sex was very normalised as a fulfilment of need. For him, what you've mentioned definitely contributed towards his general fuckery.

It is sexual assault, and it's normalised.

Also wanted to add: you don't have to be kind to someone who has been disrespectful towards you.

I don't think people are taught it at all! My midwife told me, but before that I only knew because of my medical background. I don't recall it ever being mentioned apart from that. And I know women whose midwives haven't told them that.

I think most people don't realise that there's a wound roughly the size of a dinner plate inside your uterus after you give birth, vaginally or via c section. Discounting external stitches, bruising, tearing etc, there is real risk of infection by having sex too soon after giving birth because of this wound.

Yeah this is pretty awful isn't it. I remember before I had a colposcopy for precancerous cells, my partner was texting me (he waited in the car, pre covid but he didn't want to come wait with me or be in the room with me) asking when we would be able to have sex again afterwards. When it was over and I told him I wasn't able to he would say well you can do blow jobs so.....? The lack of empathy displayed by some men is utterly astounding.

Social media is a front and the mask is likely to slip eventually. Just be grateful he's someone else's problem now not yours and concentrate on what you need now. If possible, block him from all your socials.

Man: God. The only reason that woman has so many followers is because she is half naked all the time. It's so trashy and she has absolutely no self respect. Me: interesting. So this £20 monthly payment to... Let's see, onlyfans. That's for a fully clothed woman, right? Man: silence

Yeah see all the assumptions you made here about what women want are bang wrong. And all informed by porn, what a surprise!

Professional what, though? You do realise porn isn't intended to pleasure the people who are performing in it? The sole intention is to look appealing. What your aim seems to be is for more women to watch porn to become more performative when they have sex. Some people enjoy being performative, but for most it's not going to arouse them or make them enjoy sex any more, just give you the other partner the illusion that they are.

Can we talk about vetting men for this sort of thing? Anyone willing to share positive or negative experiences about the vetting process?

Side note: how fking expensive is catering to men's flippant sexual fantasies? A tonne of (expensive) lube required. Butt plugs of varying sizes. Enemas

My (soon to be ex) husband crossed a line sexually with me (many times, but this was one in particular). He coerced me into having sex when I didnt want to. The day after he messages me like hey um I'm sorry about last night. I got carried away and I got the feeling that you didn't really want to do anything and that I might have made you? I said yeah thanks for acknowledging that, I wanted to talk to you about it actually. Cue the WTF ARE YOU CALLING ME A RAPIST?!?!!!!? And admitted to saying t…

That should read: sexually exploited a child. There is no such thing as child prostitution. Children aren't prostitutes, they're victims of abuse.

Yeah he's a pretty shitty person overall, but he just couldn't see how I wasn't flattered by what he was doing. He thought I should be grateful that he was "overcome" with desire for me, and said nobody had EVER told him that interrupting them was rude .... 😳
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy29/02/20 02:33 PM

My ex would interrupt me mid sentence, and not be able to tell me anything about anything I was saying. It was as though he couldn't hear it. He did a thing where he would grab me and kiss me while I was talking about something important, or stare at me like you see Disney characters swooning at each other while still not listening to what I was saying, because he thought it was romantic. He would be offended that I was upset that he wasn't listening to me. Suffice to say I wasn't amused.

What's really disturbing, and it's a theme that you see a lot on the AITA threads, is this idea that "he didn't make me do anything, he's not forcing me and I want to do this thing that makes me feel dead inside" without seeing that this is subtle coercive control. Men like this will usually turn the table when they're spoken to about this and be incredulous, saying things like "How could you say that, are you calling me a rapist!!!?!!??".
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy28/02/20 04:24 PM

Isn't this just rape culture with added steps though? Wanting to go for drinks with someone because drinking might lower their inhibitions enough to allow them to sleep with you is part of rape culture where a woman's wants and desires are seen as less important and less valuable than a man's. You're probably right in that the majority don't intend to get a woman blind drunk and rape her (although this will be the intent of some, I have no doubt), but this sidestepping or trying to coerce consen…

/r/FemaleDatingStrategy07/02/20 02:56 PM

Yeah there's this prevailing feeling that when women cry, it's for attention, a manipulation, or for some kind of benefit and can be ignored. When men cry, it's serious, you should pay attention and do what it takes to stop them being upset. It's not only the face value problem of this, it's the underlying idea that because men's emotions and feelings are more important and have more value than women's, that women should fix it.

Yep. I'm in the same boat. Never in a million years thought this is who he truly is, but it's clearly who he was all along, just playing a role. I think he felt it was safe to let his guard down and "be himself" after the marriage and a baby, because he felt the chances of me leaving him were much lower than they clearly were!

You make some interesting points. While I understand fully that women wear what they want for themselves, for me it feels a little bit contradictory to be posting a video with this sort of caption but encouraging objectification by pointing people who comment lustily towards her onlyfans account. It's difficult to convey because I obviously can't post the video, in which there's nothing particularly special that happens she just attempts to seductively tease while wearing underwear. Surely if yo…
