I ended my 3-year relationship with a sweet (but highly incompatible) man shortly before 2021. We were engaged. So I've been: going to therapy, working extra to pay off my debts/make up for money I spent on the wedding, and I got my own place. It's hard, I'm not gonna lie. I'm not in the best place. I'm also not entirely sure if I'm bisexual or lesbian (patriarchal upbringing makes this difficult to determine for many queer women). But I know I'll get there, and it's been fulfilling to cultivate…

Btw, you can find dishes at the thrift store or dollar store... Sometimes for less than a dollar.

While I don't agree with everything, I would give anything to have an all female gym where I live.

Now that sounds really nice!

I'm confused by one thing - his "bullies" house? Like, he has a "bully" that is somehow in his social circle? Or is this a sexual thing, like how there's a "bull" in the group? It's a weird thing to say as an adult man.

I'll admit that I've overlooked hundreds of red flags in my life... But animal cruelty? How does anyone attempt to gloss over animal cruelty?! That's a hard NO and GOODBYE and SOMEONE KEEP AN EYE ON THIS PSYCHO

I am just now opening up to my bisexuality, and I am honestly so intimated by women... Partly because I'm new to dating them, but also because so many of them are HVW. It's opened my eyes to the fact that I really let myself slip after dating a LVM for 3 years. It's NOT that hard to impress a LVM and I lost myself in the process.

I love reading these! Btw, I also joined Reddit years ago for a guy 🙄

Out of curiosity, does this mean he also pays a subscription to see who has looked at his page but did not match with him? A couple of other dating apps have this option. Aaaaaaand, if so... Why would anybody want to check out people who saw them and still didn't want to match with them?! No self respect.

Except nobody called them out specifically - so you just KNOW they're insecure about it lol

I'm sorry you had to go through this, and I'm glad you're walking away! Not that this couldn't happen with a gay FWB, but things like this make me a little relieved to be bisexual, seriously. Let's be real - I'd choose a woman for a FWB relationship every time. At least I'm guaranteed an orgasm and can't get pregnant.

Things this could be: sarcasm, a veiled cry for help, a genuinely delusional and mentally unhealthy woman. Things this couldn't be: me.

Side note: We're Not Really Strangers is an awesome little Instagram account with more tid bits like this

Yes! I literally just went 2 months without a period, and now I've been bleeding for 1.5 weeks and slowly slowing down. Saw my doc, nothing's wrong. I was just so stressed.

That first sentence cut me deep. It's painfully true.

They either feel called out or insecure. Either way, it's a childish response. A man recognizes he can do better, and follows through on the action.

I'm just gonna tell on myself, okay... New Girl is filled with Pick Me behavior but I will still watch it for Winston Bishop (and general laughs)!

Same. I've been doing plenty of introspection after my recent breakup and this tik tok just really spoke to me. My ex actually did do some nice things for me and was overall a kind man, but I still felt like his mother in many ways. The guy also never really tried to get along with my friends... And doesn't have friends of his own. It was frustrating to stay in a relationship where I consistently gave more effort.

As expected, the comments section is full of offended men who I'm betting know they do the bare minimum. Men: we're not talking about literal fruity drinks here.

Big yikes. That is so unnecessarily aggressive and crazy! Sad to hear she's back with him.

"I only respect women I'm attracted to. You aren't giving me attention, therefore you're now unattractive, and undeserving of my respect. Stroke my ego. Waaaaaah."

This, exactly. I very much believe he's unaware of his behaviors until I point them out... But he's still cuckoo and I can't stay.

My first/other posts detail our circumstances. Before this incident I had already called off our engagement, but we shelved the break-up discussion until now. So it wasn't much of a stretch to finally say a few days later, "Hey! I've decided to leave and I'm moving out on this date." He knows exactly how he's violated my boundaries numerous times, because he's been told.

I came here to say exactly this! Past trauma and/or unfulfilling parent-daughter relationships. I have quite the caregiver mentality and I'm working on healing myself first.

I can't believe I'm only just now finding this community. This post as exactly what I needed to hear. Just left my bf/fiance of 3 years due to this behavior. He's got many qualities I admire, but lack of independence isn't one of them. Sucks. 🥺

It was hell, but disguised hell because I was head over heels. Thank you for the affirmation. I feel like a bitch but it's time to wake up and out myself first.

Yeah... It makes me feel so icky inside 😳 Thank you for the reminder.

Likely, I will. I did just realize that we enabled each other to play toxic roles - I naturally fell into the position of "nurturer" with a need to focus on anyone but myself. He also made me feel like I was working too hard while simultaneously causing me to work harder to provide for him too. Ridiculous!
