3	My sister believes that the men’s rights movement is a predatory hate movement that tells unhappy and insecure young men that the cause of their problems is women, and has been funnelling those men into white supremacy for years. I’m inclined to believe her, but what is your opinion on that take? The attempt to paint the entirety of "culture" as one thing or another is problematic in that it misses a ton of nuance and complication. I, for one, do not think that women are inherently bad or that there is a gynocentric conspiracy, as some, many of whom are probably misogynists in some way, might think. I also did not say that the "cause" of the MRAs is necessarily just, and I do think that this reddit in particular can have a destructive, rather than constructive effect on individuals. Sure, a lot of people hide behind political and social movements because they are unwilling to face their own personal moral failings. This applies to socialists, libertarians, and feminists as much as it does for any particular MRA. A bigger, more important question is why male insecurity and unhappiness are of no concern to her, but female unhappiness and insecurity is made national policy by institutional organizations that align with all, or at least part, of feminist agenda.
