Particularly under-handed like the Marine Corps requires. Note that the Army doesn't even require pull-ups on the APFT and when the Army does pull-ups in regular PT, it's overhand. Most of these exercises don't properly demonstrate a soldier's ability to perform on the battlefield, and everyone in the military knows it.
