Keep talking. You’re showing exactly who you are.

Again cupcake—you’re your own problem. I get you aren’t smart, but you just keep flapping your gums and proving the point.

Yes I did. But keep up with the petty responses. Your lack of self awareness is showing.

Get a grip. Your posts clearly show your problems. Take a beat to be introspective and stop feeling so damn sorry for yourself.

As an introverted woman, my experience has been the exact opposite. Unless having particular lifestyle preferences include not planning every minute of my free time. Meanwhile, several men I’ve dated were the type to have each day of a vacation figured out and Iiked planning all the things.

Speaker Johnson already said what he’d do, which is the typical knee-jerk conservative reaction to anything requiring a solution—instead of using brain cells to come up with an actual sustainable solution, they just intend to take away people’s rights.

The “trend” itself isn’t definitive. Meaning there isn’t one. You could suggest a trend, but they’re saying it needs to be explored further to really do so. And preselection isn’t the same thing. It’s psychological, not a social behavior. And the study didn’t focused on mate selection, which for it to even remotely touch on preselection it’d need to.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/24 03:26 AM

Social learning is the process of learning behaviors, skills, or information by observing and imitating others. It means that individuals can learn from the experiences and actions of others in their social group, rather than learning through direct experience. Preselection is a psychological concept suggesting that individuals appear more attractive to potential partners if they are already chosen or favored by others. The study is an exercise in social learning not preselection. It literally m…

They aren’t all peer reviewed. And not all “scientific” sources are reputable.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/24 03:04 AM

That’s not preselection. Further, because prior experimental studies used artificial social information, the effect of real social information on attractiveness preferences is unknown. Also, you might want to avoid citing ScienceDirect. Quite a few articles refuting red pill beliefs.

You brought nothing but further proof that you red pill swallowers lack any brain cells to think and analyze for yourself. Putting something on repeat works in a cult, but it doesn’t work for those not brainwashed by said cult.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/24 02:55 AM
1

That’s not what it says at all. You can’t even grasp a simple abstract, how could you possibly understand the additional analysis provided. Also, read more than the abstract. It doesn’t tell the whole story. That’s why it’s just an abstract.

Right. Good one 👍🏼
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/24 02:52 AM

No. Read the rest of the abstract (I posted it for you earlier).

Oh, was that suppose to make you seem less ridiculous?

They don’t mean the same. And you should stop calling it a “phenomenon”. You sound ridiculous (if you’re so right in its prevalence…)
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/24 02:47 AM

Neither study showed that. But keep sharing them because it really shows how little water your point holds 👍🏼
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/24 02:46 AM

Why don’t you Google the definition and find out. Hint: it doesn’t involve the relationship but you’re on about. (Otherwise it would include preselection in the study. They’ve written a lot about it.)
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/24 02:44 AM

Haha ok. I don’t think you know what obtuse means. 👍🏼
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/24 02:43 AM

It’s actually not preselection. But you clearly lack an understanding of science so I see why you’re confused.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/24 02:42 AM

You read an abstract from almost 15 years ago and think that proves your point any better than the first study you completely failed to understand? Right. Call me names all you want it’s often the last resort for the feeble minded. Read things before using them as source material. Because again, this fails to prove your claim. And it’s horribly outdated anyway.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/24 02:42 AM

They were studying mate-choice copying as an aspect of social learning, which isn’t the same as preselection. The term “preselection” doesn’t even exist anywhere in the study.

You like to edit your posts a lot… Why don’t you mention what else it says? (And this doesn’t get into the actual analysis of the findings or your non-existent stat; it’s just the abstract.) Women appear to copy other women’s preferences for men’s faces. This ‘mate-choice copying’ is often taken as evidence of psychological adaptations for processing social information related to mate choice, for which facial information is assumed to be particularly salient. No experiment, however, has directly…

That isn’t the in the nature.com article, but cool, wherever you made it up from 👍🏼 This is the actual intro-paragraph without any further analysis they provide: Women appear to copy other women’s preferences for men’s faces. The nature.com study did not at all say that. Even the stat. You’re absolutely making that up haha. Get better if you want to die on this hill and try to control a narrative because you’re bad at it. Maybe you can find a red pill video to learn how.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/24 02:21 AM

Omg. Your in ability to read a scientific report and understand the findings is baffling. But explains a TON. This doesn’t say what you think it does. So maybe don’t use it to support your claim. Because it doesn’t. At all.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/24 02:11 AM
1

Dude—this doesn’t pertain to relationship status. That wasn’t the basis of the study. You’re grasping. It was an exercise in social learning. That’s all.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/24 02:09 AM
1

Did you read the rest though? It specifically said this isn’t definitive of all women, that it could maybe be a trend (they don’t know because they didn’t study that specifically), but it’s seen as more of a small aspect of social learning.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/24 02:07 AM
1

Did you bother reading this? It doesn’t prove your claim at all. Actually, quite the opposite.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/24 01:54 AM

No. Among animals, it’s about breeding and even then there’s bias to account for. There’s zero scientific backing for humans. Red pill groups speak to it a plenty though. But please show me your fake scientific study from a non-reputable source that the red pill groups use to affirm this false claim. I’ll wait.

He doesn’t get that his insecurity is showing and speaking in generalizations to make himself feel better about those insecurities doesn’t make things true. Also, OLD use has dropped 30% recently. Not exactly a reliable source for dating data, especially when the majority of these men are talking to bots and scammers and ascribe those experiences to real life women. Yet they grasp to OLD because they know they’d never survive in the wild with their toxic mindset.

Same here—I grew up playing with all that and also playing sports. Because we (guys and girls) all hung out based on what we wanted to play and enjoyed playing. Things we were interested in. Ended up having different friend groups in high school (a private school) based on interests and clubs, not shared experiences (that are nothing more than conversations apparently? haha). Yes, they’re speculating about many of the reasons for the drop off—because it’s something that’s actually happening and everyone has an opinion, and like I said before it’s only part of the reason for the decrease in users. You aren’t challenging me at all. You aren’t as smart as you think you are. You’re just compelled to respond to try to bait me in some way because you think so little of women in general that you just can’t handle not trying to outsmart them. Yet, I’m very sure you fail at that far more often than you realize. You’re nothing special. But please keep responding and proving yourself wrong—you’re doing the work for me. Enjoy your day 👍🏼

Wow, I can’t believe how much you know about me. Gasp. You’re so off base and have proved my point perfectly. You pretend to come across as “fair” to women and you only care about “looks” not “immutable looks”—every word you write proves the contrary. You actually aren’t being fair at all and the fact that you think you are is entirely part of the problem. You can try to bait me with the stupid generalization height bs, but I’m 5’4”, a ton of guys are “taller” than me. Keep projecting though and proving exactly how not “fair”you actually are. 👍🏼

Right. Clearly you have no clue what mutable or immutable mean. But wow, so valiant of you for not punishing women for their “fake tits”. Please. Keep fishing.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/04/23 03:26 PM

Ah so because women cover up their immutable (not “unmutable”) looks, that somehow makes their looks overall mutable. Right, that’s not how it works. If men too weren’t interested in immutable looks, women wouldn’t spend time and money trying to fool men into thinking that’s how they naturally look. Women wouldn’t have to do that if guys were actually interested in “just” looks. But continue feeling sorry for yourself and viewing women as the enemy to your hypocritical stances. I’m not gaslighting, nor did I say obesity wasn’t a problem. Guys have zero clue what an actual healthy weight is for a woman’s body. And size 2 isn’t it for the majority of women. You project your unrealistic desires (based in fiction) on women and then get pissed when they say actually that’s not healthy and you have no idea what “size 2” or healthy weight means. Not to mention, women aren’t allowed to have such desires in men without them being the devil. Please stop trying to paint yourself …

It is when men think they can be hypocritical about it, which is most, yet they complain when women want the same thing because it’s not fair. So.

Yeah, men’s attention is cheap, but maybe it’s all about where you live. My sister in law is over 300 without crooked teeth and no one gives her a second glance. I guess it’s the extra pounds and messed up teeth that she’s missing?

“Overweight” to them has NOTHING to do with an actually healthy BMI and everything to do with unrealistic standards created by the filters they see online because they think it’s real.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/04/23 04:19 AM

It’s my favorite. They want women to be a very certain and specific way and then bitch if women are that very certain and specific way. They’re literally their own biggest problem, but are too dense to realize it.

“The only requirement”. Right. And to guys, “overweight” in women is anything above a size 2, whether it’s healthy or not. Get over yourself.

Honesty is demanded, but you’re a bitch for being honest. 😂 They’re victims in this cruel world, and it’s everyone else’s (women’s) fault always, and they don’t stop telling you. Ironic how that is part of their problem, but they’re too dumb to realize it.

Extreme feminism actually loses sight of what true feminism is about. It’s not rooted in seeking equality, it’s rooted in hate for the opposite sex. Much like TRP. And as a feminist, it gives us all a bad name and damages our efforts. EDIT: Also like TRP, much of its extremism is perpetuated in online echo chambers.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/03/23 10:20 PM
1

Yeah no. To any of this. Sure TRP people walk around among us, but fearing all men and encouraging others to do the same isn’t the answer. There will always be harmful men and women in the world. Also, I don’t do a ton of dating because my life is pretty busy, so I really value my free and me time. Has zero to do with men.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/03/23 03:04 PM

Men in general aren’t “predators of women and children”… what in your life happened that has caused you to think that way? And giving credence to an unhealthy ideology that doesn’t represent at all the majority of men is actually more harmful than what they spew because you’re perpetuating it.

Do you not comprehend words? I actually did answer that. Don’t you have a RP meeting to get to so you all can figure out what you’re gonna do now that Andrew Tate has been arrested for rape and human trafficking?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/01/23 01:34 AM
3

Read. That question has been answered. In this thread, as one place to look. Is your brain soup? Try to think and actually attempt to understand instead of trolling people in an effort to have a “gotcha” moment. You’re not smart enough for that. Maybe there’s a guide that can teach you how to troll better. You should look into that.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/01/23 01:15 AM
3

That’s not what you’re asking. People (myself included) have answered that question for you already. You then want to know where you go about finding out how you do that if not for the guide. Which I gave you an answer to, but you don’t like. Because you’re a RP. And you want to whine about it because you have the maturity level of a 14 y/o. Try thinking for yourself instead of having everyone do it for you. Try coming up with some of your own ideas. It could actually be very freeing for you.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/01/23 01:07 AM
4

Holy shit. No wonder you’re a red pill. The RP promise doesn’t inherently “turn women on”. In fact most of the garbage they spew doesn’t account for the majority of the population. They make you think it does, but there’s a ton of info out there that would prove you to the contrary if you actually opened your eyes. Clearly, you’re entranced though. Do you actually talk to people? Have you ever tried talking to people? Men turned women on LONG before the RPs came along and convinced you their “gu…
/r/PurplePillDebate07/01/23 12:55 AM

Then you really need to be better at finding worthwhile source material. Actually talking to human beings that you know and who know you, and that you trust, who can give you actual advice, instead of random strangers on the internet and a cult of brainwashing wannabes. You’re choosing to only have one “guide”. That’s on you.

I’ve answered that question. How old are you? EDIT: To be more painfully obvious, it’s like any other normal innate response, right? How would you pursue those, if at all? That’s the point.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/01/23 12:37 AM
4

Dude. That’s the point. You want that, right? It’s a biological innate want. RPs take that and twist into this high-value, low-value guide scam that’s meant to do nothing but make you feel shittier about yourself so you keep buying into the toxic crap they spew. You already are based on this post. Otherwise you’d know the premise of the “promise” is a totally normal thing and can’t be attributed to RPs; what is attributed to them is how you achieve that, which is the bs theory ultimately, not th…

/r/PurplePillDebate07/01/23 12:27 AM

There’s no “blue pill guide” because most people deemed “blue pilled” see no need to give credence to a bs theory by coming up with a guide to counter it.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/01/23 12:23 AM

I agree with you on the other three, but that one isn’t even a compliment either—it’s disingenuous and condescending as hell. And as someone who receives these “compliments” often, men that say this stuff in the real world know exactly what they’re doing and what it means. They know they aren’t compliments and don’t mean them to be.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/12/22 07:34 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate28/12/22 07:53 PM
2

Bro—scroll up and read what I took fault in. You keep going off on side tangents to try to be right about something. I don’t get why men who claim to know so much about women have such a hard time in dating tbh. It’s probably because they don’t have a clue. And yes, the pessimistic, woe-is-me comparison mentality between two completely different sexes is very toxic.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/12/22 07:53 PM
1

Right—CNCB released an article in 2022, sharing a study in 2021, that female head of households earned $0.55 for every dollar vs a male head of household. And they expect the gap to continue widening. So yeah… power intact.

“…they are less sexless, its also why they have more relationship experience” That’s what I’m asking how do you know about. Again, you’re relying on small numbers and skewing data. Still. You’re so laser-focused on these small percentages that don’t speak to/refuse to acknowledge the majority (70-75%) of men and women because it doesn’t fit these self-pitying toxic views. Saying things are “facts” is a gross mischaracterization because it only applies to a minority (who want people to believe it…

Oh I wasn’t aware we were being exclusive to developed countries… haha. And being educated if it means college degrees, what about trade schools and the like? I fail to see why education even matters if men still earn more. Seems that economic “power” is still intact. Kind of points to a woman’s need to be educated is to keep from faking behind vs a man’s lack of intellect.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/12/22 07:32 PM
2

How do you know? You’re literally taking a small percent from an article you read as the basis for your generalizations. And yes, saying “in general” is very much applying it to the masses.

Haha right 👍🏼
/r/PurplePillDebate28/12/22 07:21 PM

Ah, so your data is sourced primarily from your social circles and you’re applying that to all women despite your data containing a small sample. Makes sense. EDIT: You fail to point out that the overwhelming majority of both men and women in that study from 2 years ago don’t identify as being lonely. So it’s best not to skew the data to fit your narrative.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/12/22 07:18 PM

Men are still grossly more educated than women, just more women now are educated than before. So your data seems a bit off. Regardless, what does that have to do with their inability/ability to stay single?

First off, I’d strongly consider against using PT as any kind of source material—it’s not remotely scientific or peer reviewed and is known for publishing quack opinions. Second, your other source used numbers taken 4 mos into the pandemic. Over 2 years ago. Still, it doesn’t show huge margins in loneliness, just that men feel lonelier by a small percentage. Therapy doesn’t have to be a long drawn out process if you show up and do the work (and get real with yourself) instead of treating it as a way to get girls so you can lose your virginity. You might actually like it. And no. Your attitude isn’t so hot either. If you just want to get your dick wet and don’t care about the attraction part (which doesn’t sound like a deal breaker for you), just go on Tapdat, Wild, CasualX, Down or any other strictly hookup/one-night-stand app.
/r/seduction22/10/22 04:55 PM

Therapy. For the millionth time. And being desperate isn’t the same as being needy; you’re clearly desperate. While both are toxic, desperation is rooted in unrealistic expectations. Which again, is something therapy can help you with. And yeah, it might mean you have to stop approaching women, but how’s that gonna hurt you at this point? Because it’s going so well for you? Be open to change.

You really proved my point didn’t you? Why bother even asking for guidance if you already know everything, especially in how women think? Good luck, you need it. Edit: The good that getting therapy will do is that women might actually want to date you. And you might rid yourself of this obsessive behavior.

Why did you delete the post? If you want advice from people—you need to stop getting defensive if you’re not told what you want to hear. Be open to gaining some perspective outside of your viewpoint and strive to be a bit more introspective. I’ll humor you and offer some suggestions; although, I’m not sure of the point since you have a rebuttal for everything. But what do we non-virgins know, right? You want me to believe your desperation is controlled in front of girls. That’s very unlikely. I’…

Your post reeks of desperation honestly. And maybe you don’t realize it, but you could be coming off a bit too strong because of it. Which would impact their interest in you, whether you got their number or not. Truthfully, you should just come out and ask if they want to be a means to an end. It’ll save you both some time because I don’t get the vibe that you’re really interested in potential partners other than to get laid for the first time

DARVO? That’s a bit excessive/extreme. My point was simply guilt transcends gender. As for why I’m on this sub, the beauty of this world is knowledge is always attainable; it’s good to gain insight from multiple perspectives (including multiple subs). Don’t you agree? Or do you prefer for you and others remain narrow minded? “Genders studies class”, yet another assumption made by your narrow purview. I’m sorry you were so wronged that you feel the need to make such generalizations/assumptions of…

I get you’re never wrong, so I’ll just leave it at this: I’m saying your dating tips are both harmful to men and women. That has nothing to do with me being a woman. Edit: Specifically this post.

Haha no I didn’t read every comment, just the ones at the top. Honestly, why would I? Your post should be reflective of your intent. I shouldn’t have to read all of your comments to understand what you mean by x, y, z. Discuss your intentions in the beginning, instead of forcing people to rely on comments (that have to be scrolled through) for clarity. If you’re going to post tips that shouldn’t be a list, don’t write them out in a list; you can call them tips, but they’re still a list. And just…

I appreciate your confidence in what you believe (though at times it comes across a bit condescending), but you’re only offering the “basics” that “help a lot” from your own purview. You’re suggesting for men to do all these “basics”, but what if they aren’t reflective of who they are? What if they aren’t much of a texter, but are great on the phone (or better yet, are great at in-person conversations)? What if I don’t want to be on a date with someone who talks to me like they would their frien…

I’m a woman and there are a lot of things wrong with this post. I won’t get into all of them, but the most obvious is not all women are the same. There’s no manual or anything of the sort. Generalizations aren’t helpful and actually make guys feel as though they have to perform some ridiculous dating ritual. The onus isn’t really on guys to “attract us”. I’m much more for authenticity, but maybe that’s just me. 🤷🏼‍♀️

As a woman who is often told I “seem bitchy” (I’m not which is why people make me aware of it) and is also highly sarcastic—this works. I don’t know why, it just does. Depending on the shot/joke taken, I’ll either laugh outright or deliver one of my own. Sometimes both.

As a woman—do not take anything on that sub as pertaining to all women. They’re seriously disgusting in their methods of degrading men as if they themselves are some perfect prize in no need of self reflection and growth. I don’t know a single woman in my social circles (yes, I’m close enough with them to know) who believe any of the nonsense they post. They claim to be feminist but they aren’t even that; they’re narcissists.

I’m 5’3”, so tall is a very broad term. You would, in fact, be tall to me. I’ve dated guys who were 5’6” to over 6’. For me, it doesn’t release anything primal. I think because I’m used to everyone being taller than me.

Depends on how many partners are included in the “10+ years of sex research”. I’m just curious what you consider an appropriate number to qualify painting all western women with the same brush. If you re-read your comment, you immediately defended yourself against another poster by saying women say worse about men; you’re justifying it. My point in “tit for tat” not being a sound argument is that no gender should be “trashing” the other as a whole based on experiences with some. Period. Has noth…

Still directly generalizing a complete subset of women; as well as other subsets of women indirectly. What are you basing your analysis on? Also, “tit for tat” is hardly a sound argument for either gender to treat the other gender like garbage (i.e. “but they say this about us”).

Totally agree. Also, OP is projecting by generalizing. Blanket generalizations mean nothing and are often made off of a small sample size in this sub.

My parents had an awful divorce when I was in high school. I’ve been in a couple pretty serious LTRs since then during which marriage was discussed, but it has always terrified me; sure I was in these relationships for awhile, but I just couldn’t see a forever-type future with them (I was always honest about it). After my parents’ divorce, I knew I wouldn’t marry someone unless I felt really sure it could last. Over time though, while open to marriage, I realized it wasn’t necessarily the end go…

I don’t find fault with OP’s mindset at all (anyone calling him a simp is bitter over their own failures with women and are harboring some serious resentment and jealousy). But I do think you need to work on building your confidence a bit. Insecurities can be crippling, but you have to consider what you bring to the table, even if it’s small to start. Chastising yourself will only make it worse. I’m glad to hear you’re working on it though. That’s the first step forward honestly.

As a woman, I have to agree with the priority part. Though to add to the reasons, she might not be looking for anything serious (which would be why you aren’t a priority). The analogy is flawed. Gatekeepers, by definition, control who gets in the gate. The key (gatekeeper) has the control to open the lock (gate) as you mentioned in this analogy, obviously since locks don’t control keys. So then if men are the gates, they’re the lock; if women are the gatekeepers, they’re the key.

You’re forgetting something—the other end of the equation. If the girl was just sitting there and he just rando says he wants to fuck (whether ugly or good looking), it’s a creep move. However, the girl in this scenario started the convo with a bold question. Feigning surprise or disgust when he responds honestly, when she was the one that went there in the first place, is gaslighting on her end. EDIT: Honesty is attractive. That’s what the point was.

At least you have one, right? You posted this here intending to be controversial; it’s not seemingly so, so why pretend otherwise? Right, so why not just say that then? I was referencing the intentional deceit in her responses; this post was created by a bored person seeking attention. Her post history is no different. Right. And seduction leads to a relationship of some sort. How are you defining “relationship”? And you can’t use a fictional character as the basis of an argument for why this post is imprecise. That was my point in my response to you.

“Barney Stinson style”? I didn’t know that was a thing. Advice: Don’t follow the Bro Code. Now suit up! You realize his character was created to represent the antithesis of successful relationships, to counter Marshall and Lily, as we join Ted on his journey to find how he met “your mother”, right?

I don’t disagree with what you’re saying. I mean to be taken literal, it’s problematic at best. (I don’t think this is meant to be taken so literally. It doesn’t even seem that legit of a post.)

1

Oh I thought you were implying you knew they weren’t attracted to you before you even made a move. I guess the thing to consider, if you can be selective, aren’t you already choosing/selecting from an “abundance” of women then? It’s just confidence. I mean, rejection can sting, but it shouldn’t frame your mindset.
/r/seduction08/09/20 09:46 PM

OP—this advice is applicable to both genders. As a female, I agree with the majority of what you said. Honesty and confidence truly go a long way.
/r/seduction08/09/20 09:19 PM
6

Why don’t you ask her? If she says “in the future” she could see it going somewhere again, you really should stop focusing solely on her then. It’s like she’s kind of keeping you in the wings for when she’s ready, and that’s not really fair to you.
/r/seduction08/09/20 09:18 PM
29

You’re putting way too much pressure on yourself. How can you possibly guess which girls would find you attractive? Some girls don’t approach guys due to lack of confidence as well. What OP said could really go for both genders.
/r/seduction08/09/20 09:16 PM
12

If she’s bold enough to ask you, be bold enough to respond honestly. It’s not on you to avoid weird looks; she’s the one that asked the question. And being that confident is attractive, not unattractive.

The link to the OKCupid data in the first article is a dead link. The second article is from five years ago and is data from Tinder with no data source provided. Neither are data sources from the scientific community conducted with actual scientific study. I think you need to re-research.

I can assure you, it’s not random in his case. So I’m using his method of compiling data to see if there’s any legitimacy to it. It was just a simple question based on actual data. I hardly doubt people come to this sub to make love connections anyway. Edit: I assumed it was safe to ask because he made reference to drawing conclusions based on women in the real world. So it was more with respect to those interactions, not those on the internet.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/20 06:26 AM

Again—source? Edit: It’s easier to dissect factual data. I’m sure you’ve acquired these percentages from some data source. Interested to know what it is and what other findings there are.

Do you have a source for those facts? The data from actual studies show kindness and humor as what attracts women to men the most. Maybe that’s where you fall short?

Just for clarity, so it’s not hypocritical for older men, who refer to women their own age as too old for them, to then call women they’re trying date who are 15 years younger than they are bitches when they say these older men are too old for them, right?

Negative. You don’t have to share finances. In fact it really helps keep you from arguing about finances.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/20 10:36 PM
1

Who says they want you to contribute to them? Why do you insist on applying that? Most don’t. Thats not the step-parent’s place and is actually more annoying than helpful. Anyone that does insist on a step-parent contributing to a child that isn’t theirs, you wouldn’t be with anyway because anyone that uses others as atms aren’t good people (unless that’s your thing).

In what world is it assumed that a dual-income house equates to combining finances? And if being a step-parent is hard, it’s more than likely due to custody/co-parenting issues. But again, not every situation is like that—it’s usually because the parents forget about their child’s best interest and care more about their pride. While it’s safe to say the horror stories of nightmare single-parents are far more popular than those of the contrary, single-parents don’t make lousy partners just becaus…

It doesn’t. Any parent that expects the stepparent to “expend resources” on their stepchild isn’t creating healthy boundaries, and again, single parent or not, who would want to be with anyone like that? It’s up to the parents to be grown ups and do that, not obligate someone to care for a child that isn’t theirs. Courts don’t take into account stepparent income when considering support because of this, for example. EDIT: My child already has a father, and I’m not looking for a replacement. I th…

Right. I can. But not all situations are super dramatic (or really have to be). It’s the people who make it about themselves rather than their child(ren) that are selfish enough to complicate things. Who wants to be with people like that anyway? I guess I just hope not every single mother/father are painted with the same brush. Because honestly, it’s becoming more common for there to be single parents, whether they’ve been married before or not (I have not). At 36, I know a lot of them my age. 🤷…
