So many people view it as an attack on men, but I disagree. A women’s ability to make choices and be independent feels like it’s crumbling away more and more every day. The one area where I still have full control is dating. I don’t have to date, I don’t have to have sex, etc. I’m allowed to do what I want and say “no” when I want. It’s empowering to hold onto that bit of control that being single offers

Statistically speaking in order to have a confidence interval that makes the odds mean anything they would end up being a massive range. I’d guess between 3% - 71%. The bottom line is that it varies. Age, gender, location, appearance, personality, political beliefs, voice, style, etc all factor into whether or not one individual wants to sleep with another individual. One person might have more sexual activity strictly because they know what group of people tend to be attracted to them and thus …

All of this is about online dating, not every pattern for the online dating world will also be present in people’s IRL sexual behavior

Empathy is on a spectrum, everyone (minus sociopaths) feels empathy at some level. The men I know who hit the level of empathy that I consider high enough to make them “good men” don’t have many issues with dating. One trait alone doesn’t make people attractive, but it definitely helps

The reason why straight women have less orgasm than lesbian women is the centering of the penis in straight sex. Penetration suddenly becomes the main event and sex is fully over as soon as the penis cums. When your view of sex is different, that penetration isn’t the end all be all and that sex should end when everyone is satisfied then the orgasm gap closes. The blame isn’t solely on men or women, it’s on the view straight couples have and how they treat sex. When you decenter the penis everyt…

Besides asking people about it how else would you suggest gathering data about over a thousand people’s sex lives?

The frequency of sexual intercourse among single people, grouped by gender isn’t massively skewed in either direction. Among people 18-24, single men have more sex. Among people 25-44, single women have more sex. Among people 45-65 single men have more sex. Among people 66+ single men and single women report the same frequency. The biggest difference is between single men and single women age 25-34, even still this difference is only .9 more sexual encounters per month. Basing judgement on STI r…

It’s all about delivery. Not wanting to date an overweight woman or short man is fine, but don’t insult them or tell them shitty things about their body. Just a generic “sorry I’m not interested” will do.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/10/24 11:44 PM

Women reports higher levels of kinks on average, but men far surpass women in having paraphilia or fetishes in general. There’s definitely a pattern, we just don’t know for sure it’s a cause and effect situation

Consider me part of the 5% then. I’d rather be with an average guy who isn’t straight up abusive then some asshole who gets away with it because of money and good looks

Kind of off topic, but stuff like this is my biggest issue with modern culture. We’ve lost the ability to think “hey these two things are different, but that doesn’t mean one HAS to be better than the other”. Men aren’t better then women, women aren’t better then men. Women wouldn’t survive in a man-less world, men wouldn’t survive a woman-less world. We need each other! There doesn’t need to be a hierarchy, men and women can be different but equal. Femcel ideology and incel ideology are both st…

Still worth getting a test! Not as a test of cheating, but some men are actually born with a specific STI (I’m blanking on which one). Always double check to make sure someone didn’t pick something up innocently or was born with something and just hasn’t shown symptoms
/r/PurplePillDebate28/09/24 05:58 AM

As a young woman I always make an effort to approach guys and not the supposed “top 10%” guys, just regular guys that seem cool to be around. It doesn’t work as often as you’d think. However, and I’m sure guys have this same fear, I’m always worried in the back of my mind that the guy who says yes isn’t saying yes because he likes me but rather just because he doesn’t want to be single anymore and I’m offering. Not a woman specific problem, but something I’ve noticed

I can’t speak for all women, but I personally have never had any interest in anything short term, “casual”, or purely sexual. The only way I look at men is with the idea of a long term relationship that will hopefully lead to marriage after several years of dating. I’m not just looking at him from the outside, but from who he is and how compatible we’d be
/r/PurplePillDebate07/09/24 05:24 AM

In fiction I don’t have to deal with the maintenance. You read the romance you don’t read about him spending hours and hours in the gym and having to plan date nights around his meal plan. You read about the beautiful vacation, they don’t mention the part where he’s spending half of it in the hotel gym. A man with a dad bod makes for a better partner, he’s not spending 24/7 working and talking about calories and macros. Books give you a romanticized view of things, that includes what it’s like t…

I’m not a cheater so there wouldn’t be anything to discover?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/08/24 03:25 AM

If my partner has already reached the point where they distrust me so much that they need dna evidence to prove I didn’t cheat on them then the relationship is already over. Don’t stay with people you don’t trust, don’t have kids with people you don’t trust. Anytime anyone reaches the point of needing to investigate cheating no matter what they find or don’t find the relationship is over because there’s no trust left.

That’s just literally not true. Women aren’t so shallow that they wouldn’t mind a man sending them to the hospital because he’s handsome. Please do some research and learn empathy

If you genuinely believe that anyone would rather stay with an abusive partner because of their physical appearance instead of leaving and finding someone safe to be with because the safe option might not be as physically attractive than you have completely lost touch with reality. No one is staying in an abusive relationship because the abuser is hot. No one is so blinded by physical attraction that they will stay with someone who makes them fear for their life.

I’m almost exclusively attracted to men with beards. There’s some exceptions, but in general they make men way more attractive to me

I’m currently in college and my ex went straight into blue collar work. He would constantly make “jokes” about my intelligence and me being dumb. Even after I told it was an insecurity of mine and asked him to stop, he still continued. He didn’t like that I was smarter than him and pursuing higher education. He needed to bring me down so he could be seen/feel like he was better than me.

I think you’re perception of women’s experiences are warped. Yes, some attractive women get lots of attention but plenty of women DONT. I’ve been fairly active on Instagram for years and I’ve never had a single man slide into my dms (minus one scammer “prince” from South America). I’ll go on Hinge and send all daily likes and often get zero matches. I don’t match every guy I like, it’s closer to 1/30. I’ve also approached guys in person and asked them out, I’m 0/11 currently. I’m not some ugly b…

It’s a fun fantasy and something simple to read/watch. It’s fun to live in that fantasy world of always mutual attraction, grand gestures, perfect first kisses, etc. That being said “It Ends With Us” is a horrible example to use. That book/movie depicts an abusive relationship, this is part of the reason why it’s so popular. There’s not that much representation for those stories of women in abusive relationships and learning to love and trust again after escaping one

As a woman who does approach men, I’m still not succeeding. I hear a lot of guy say stuff like “if a woman approached a man she could have any man she wanted”. That’s not true. Not every woman is a supermodel. I’m 0/11 on asking men out.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/24 04:12 AM

Part of the reason women stay in bad relationships isn’t because they enjoy the chaos, it’s because they’re afraid. Intentionally hurting your partner (“make her cry a few times”) is a warning sign that a relationship either will turn abusive or already is abusive (remember physical and sexual abuse aren’t the only types of abuse). Women aren’t happy in toxic relationships, they’re terrified to leave. Don’t hurt people.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/24 01:17 AM

Have you ever heard of intersectionality?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/24 12:53 AM

Agreed. It benefits the entire household if someone gets to work part time or stay home. Everything is too expensive
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/24 11:34 PM

You read one post and determined that I have a victim complex? Interesting.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/24 11:22 PM

Part of me just thinks it’s interesting and that more people should be talking about intersectionality. But also as a queer women it’s always bothered me that queer men are often treated way worse. Instead of minority groups turning against each other we really should be trying to help each other and take down hatred and bigotry as a whole
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/24 11:14 PM

Maybe it’s just a regional thing, but where I live single income households literally don’t exist. No one I know has ever bought into the fantasy of marrying a rich man and never having to work again but it’s not realistic. I know a guy who makes over $200,000, his wife is not a freeloader. She works over 50 hours a week still because they need the money to fund the life they want to live where they want to live it. Most Americans are living paycheck to paycheck. The women who don’t work are usu…
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/24 11:11 PM

Intersectionality is incredibly important
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/24 11:04 PM

r/askredditafterdark I’m not saying guys need to be pegged, obviously consent matters. Yes, people don’t like to be perceived as something they’re not. The point is men are only worried about being perceived as gay when on the receiving end of anal sex and not worried when they’re on the giving end of anal sex, that’s what’s strange and caused me to think maybe it’s related to misogyny.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/24 11:03 PM

Saying “most” takes two less keystrokes than saying “100%” (on mobile), so what you did actually takes more effort. If you want to talk about lazy debating then we can talk about how you completely ignored the question I asked you in my last comment.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/24 11:01 PM

Partially because I’ve been seeing an increase in posts about guys asking if their gay because they enjoy solo anal play and partially because I’m in college studying the psychology of sex and sexuality so this area is where I’m most knowledgeable and comfortable debating/discussing
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/24 10:52 PM

Fair enough. I’m admittedly not very educated on the prevalence of all of that in other cultures/countries
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/24 10:49 PM

I have to agree to disagree with you here. I personally don’t believe there’s anything a man and a woman can do together in their bedroom that’s inherently gay.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/24 10:47 PM

Just because I’m talking about it doesn’t mean that I personally have stake in it or some kind of hidden goal
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/24 10:45 PM

Don’t speak in absolutes, it makes your point lose all credibility. Any credible source will tell that yes, a majority of hard labor jobs are done by men but it’s definitely not 100%. In what way(s) are women taken care of that men aren’t, but should be? I’m curious what specifically you’re talking about
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/24 10:44 PM

That’s not at all the point of the post and not something I want to do
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/24 10:33 PM

Who?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/24 10:21 PM

Men are not second class citizens. Men still hold most positions of power, men are paid more for the same labor, and men face less harassment. It’s not that men have to put women on a pedestal it’s that just providing financially isn’t enough to maintain a relationship. You should still be “dating” your partner even after becoming exclusive or getting married. Just paying for the house isn’t enough, you have to show your partner that you actually love them still
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/24 10:20 PM

I’m not trying to make anyone homosexual. A straight men is still a straight man even if he enjoys using a dildo on himself. Anal play doesn’t make men gay. Attraction to other men is what makes men gay.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/24 10:11 PM

I hear it from time to time out in the world (I’m an American) and I see it online fairly often
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/24 10:10 PM

I’d like to clarify I’m not saying men aren’t the victims of homophobia, they are. I think PART of the reason why homophobia against men and internalized homophobia for men is so prevalent even now stems from misogyny as well. I do think you’re point about men being viewed as the disgusting gender also makes a lot of sense. I’ve heard guys say “I can understand lesbians because who wouldn’t want to date a women, but why would anyone want to date a man?”. Men are often viewed as being gross and l…
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/24 10:09 PM

Yep. Love guys like that. The lifestyle of the ultra fit people isn’t something I really want to be around. Like if we go on vacation and you spend hours a day in the hotel gym then we’re breaking up.
