Thanks! Great reminder. All the personal finance advice I've been reading says to do exactly what you said (along with building a liquid cash emergency fund of course). I have a 403b plan that I have been contributing 10% to with a full employer match. It is very similar to a 401k. Yes that is normal fashion for a man in the US. I didn't realize until I lived abroad men from other places actually take pride in their appearance/grooming. Lol I went on a date with a guy the other day and he legit just wore a Tshirt.....doin the bare minimum lol
