Yeah, but then how would you take part in Celebrities Read Mean Tweets?!

Pursuing, but I agree completely! Especially about the "fuck it" mentality, I just signed up for scuba diving lessons that way!

Nah, he meant he was acting like she was a friend of his who was sitting a couple seats away instead of sitting next to him.

He probably got here the same way we did, through a link in a comment on that blog post. Surprising we all read this far, though.

If you figure it out, let's see an FR! I'm in the same boat.

There's plenty of things to do that require little to no money - hiking, picnic in the park, pretending to be a couple at an open house, cooking her dinner at your place, it's pretty much endless. There's women in your situation too, I'm sure they'd completely understand. That said, you do need to prioritize your life; if getting a job is the most important thing to you right now, focus on it! Just remember that it doesn't need to stop you from having fun.

I've never had a job in my life and still manage to get in relationships pretty easily. Your income's only a factor if you let it be one. (Keep in mind, though, I'm still a college kid, so if you're 35, maybe things are different. I don't know, I've never been there, but I'm sure it matters less than you think it does.)

That's a damn good question. I haven't been able to manage fixing it instantly yet, but I've found that recognizing your poor state of mind usually helps. Other than that, I throw on some upbeat music and try to pump myself up, but it's hard to pull yourself out of a rut. I was kind of in one yesterday, and the main thing that got me out of it was seeing a ~8 month old lab trying to chase a rabbit.

My thoughts exactly. You can totally help the guy out without framing it as PU, and if you're insecure about the girl finding out how you got to where you are, you can pretend that whatever exercises you have him do were made up on the spot.

Yeah, I don't know why people wouldn't recommend it, it's freaking gold. I usually get the girl involved with the cooking too, throw in some kino here and there, and basically control the whole interaction. I guess it probably helps that I know what I'm doing much better than most people, so girls usually feel a little overwhelmed/out of their element. I suppose I've usually got the attraction built up pretty well before I get them in my kitchen, too.

Man, I can't congratulate you for getting into an argument, but this line is fucking GOLDEN.

Have you read DiCarlo's Escalation Ladder? He kind of touches on this, basically he suggests that you alternate incidental kino with more overt kino. The idea behind this is that after she's accepted the incidental stuff, she'll be comfortable with the more overt stuff like leading her by the hand. I think he also says not to make the overt kino too long since that increases the chances of her thinking about it and breaking it off, which is obviously bad for you.

That's called being a man.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
