If you've been on the ground in the club and had some success and that sends your heart racing, I'd say you're actually an extrovert. If you've had some success in the club, but you feel drained from it... yeah, introvert. Thanks again. Hadn't thought of it that way, since I actually don't have any reference experiences. Gotta go get some of those.

Thanks for the insights, man. Okay. The hard part - I'm a newbie and I SUCK AT PICKUP. I'm also an introvert. What worries me about this is you just gave me carte blanche to ignore club game, and, in my mind, night game in general. I've made significant strides in day game (relatively speaking) but I'm still absolutely hopeless in a bar. I'm going to go out and suck anyways.

I've lost a lot of weight in the last few years but I'm still kinda chubby. Last week I ran outside with my shirt off for the first time ever. I'm still pale as hell and fat jiggles... But you know what? I felt free. Same kind of exercise.

I'm inspired! I hope I can make as many attempts and opens as you did when I go out tomorrow.

As a former (and still recovering) fatty (male), I can tell you with absolute certainty that you cannot make her want to lose weight. If she says she wants to but does nothing about it, she doesn't want to. Encourage any positive step she takes. This does not include talking about losing weight or wishing she could "stop having cravings".

I, too, apply "less is more" to conversational skills.

I end up placing too much attention on my own facial expressions and body language. This is why you need to internalize these behaviors. The point of practice, practice, practice, is so you don't have to think about these details. Focus on the process.

I really appreciate your perspective and advice! I'm at a point where I know I shouldn't be reading instead of doing. but this article helps take some of the pressure off the idea of "achievement" for me. At this stage of the game, success really is determined just by putting forth an effort. Doesn’t matter if you get any hits, what counts is that you’re showing up to the batting cage and swinging at every pitch. This in particular struck me like a bolt of lightning - I've been looking for the "…

Way to go, man! Balls to you, sir. But yeah, you did it "wrong". Which is completely irrelevant.

We all determine our own value and our behavior lets other people know what that is. This really hit home with me. Thanks for the insight.

Right there with ya. Still a noob when it comes to pickup but I've learned not to text - in fact I've cancelled it because I got damn tired of ruining a perfectly good thing. Basically, having to wait for a response kills spontaneity and instead brings out my needy crazy self. Not good. Phone calls all the way.

Your story resonates about with me, though I'm sure your social anxiety is a lot worse. What's helped for me, so far, is going out with the mindset of "I'm not going to get laid. I don't even want to get laid." I think this is what all the literature talks about when they say "have fun". It's hard to let go of the idea of sex because, yeah, you're a dude...but you can and will have more fun if you forget about that for a while.

This sounds so damn healthy! A picture of what human relationships should be.

Newbie here - I can say with conviction that if I'm not sexually interested in the girl (I agree with other commentors that 7 is the basement) then game becomes much easier...and meaningless. What I mean is this - practice is all well and good, but if it doesn't help you get the girl you want what's the point?

My best guess is hyperbole. Way too much, but you get the idea.

I think it's an easy mistake for us guys to make to assume that because we are attracted to women primarily for their looks, they feel the same way about us. I'm going to paraphrase the mystery method here - for men to be attracted to women its 10% about survival and 90% about replication. For women it's the other way around. In plain English: Men care an awful lot about physical appearance and a little about everything else; Women care an awful lot about demeanor and personality and a little ab…
