Some of what you say is true, but I disagree with the overall direction of your reply. I think that there is often what you say, "an instinct to be kind and emotionally available". Some nice guys do feel more validated when a woman validates them. I myself went through an awful history of trauma with my mother, and looking back through the past, I gave way too much of myself over to women who I thought validated me. You're right about that. Where you're wrong is the sexualization of differences …

I think that attitude is great for letting go of past grudges and resentment. I don't want to hold prisoners. My jail is pretty full at this point. Thanks for commenting.

You make a great point. I should do more research before laying down advice. There are some things I think that OP could have been more healthy about, but I am wrong about Tinder. It looks just like a meeting thing, not adultfriendfinder or anything. Just so I know that I am wrong, is Tinder for guys to meet other guys, or girls to meet girls, for just friends? Or is it exclusively dating? And is it seen as a casual sex hook-up app? I, too, think it would be cool to see a study done of perceptio…

men these days aren't really anymore caring. I think the father in the post is mistaking Nice Guys for good guys. the nice guy caretakes, he pretends to be kind, listening, and caring but with a hidden agenda for sex. the bad boy just comes in and takes what he wants, but both are evil. the problem these days is a shortage of goodness in me. A deficit in being who I really am and refusing to caretake; in addition to a deficit in respecting my sexuality enough not to masturbate to porn, or to sha…

OP, I want to tell you something. First, I think you did the right thing walking out of there. She lied; her pics weren't accurate representations of herself. It's evil to spend time with liars, and you got out of there with your life. But you lied, too. I tell you this not to shame you, but to open your eyes if you want them opened. Thinking you were going to meet someone special on Tinder is a trap. I sense that you weren't really interested in someone special for Valentine's, but think about …

false. the reason you're not a mod is because of the kind of faulty assumptions you rely on. the only thing the mods haven't done is delete your shaming comments. correction: frame is not an idol. OP broke frame because he didn't want to be with a liar that night. further, "that is something a girl would say" is something a girl would say. OP had some faulty assumptions, too, such as thinking he was going to meet someone special on Tinder, in addition to himself going on a date for purely physic…

agreed. tests are primarily meant to see if she can dominate him, but this was a direct question about his ability to buy for her. gold digger or at its most harmless, someone who wanted to brag to her friends about the trophy she dated.

yeah, i have a question, OP. What kinds of things do you say to women when they cross your boundaries? Do you have a general formula? Do you express what you're feeling, what you'd prefer, etc.?

yeah, i guess. very interesting reversal in your logic. putting the reward before the conditions ... i have shitty boundaries. but i think that ultimately as long as i treat people the right way and do good to them despite what they do, then i don't have to put up with shit from anyone. i'll know it's their fault and on them, and i don't have to question myself or become introverted.

your story is so cool. i am an ex-christian. or ex-religious, whatever. christianity is just about rules to me, and i wanted a deeper relationship with reality and to be more genuine. the religion in this country is hostile to both i think. and now that i'm just checked out of the system, it's amazing. i don't have to worry about being this perfect little boy so that absolutely no one ever thinks anything bad about jesus or god. i don't have to hide my desires or suppress them. i know that god w…

this is an incredibly dense article. thank you. so much information here. I come from a toxic childhood where my mom tyrannized my life, homeschooled me to college, isolated me from peers, told me what to think and what to feel ... and abused the shit out of me when i resisted. I tried so hard to be good, but it's never been enough. i had to go to porn, to masks, and to just bad things to eke out some desires on the side ... but that destroyed me, too. lately, i've been avoiding her. i agree wit…

ugh. this is so stupid. i have to watch this, when i find someone i really like, not to lose my boundaries. to keep my humanity and dignity. i fucking knew how to do this when i was younger.

I like how you're "TRP endorsed" and you specifically negated the need to ask them. very cool article. intelligent. badass
