I replied to an post, giving an brief explanation of what generally happens to "trends" and equally to subs as they are sort of following the same pattern of development. But yes in a sub it is a mods job to, or maybe rather a mods responsibility to keep a forum within the spirit it was supposed to be while it is the users job. People see a post on their front page and up vote because they think it is cute. No thoughts given towards whether it belongs in the sub or not. It should be the mods job to remove shit that "does not belong" in a sub. But Better to have more subscribers than quality content.
