Honestly, it depends on what you do with your sudden self confidence boost. It's like power, once someone gets it you get to see who they really are because they're not bound anymore by other factors that prevented from acting the way they wanted. It can work great if you realize you're actually not unlovable and you bring happiness to someone else's life and so you try to make them proud and love them even more for giving you that feeling you needed or it can go sidetracks where you're like "we…

Is he rich? Was he an orbiter who got her when she was on a low point period, perhaps? Just getting a pretty girl probably made his self esteem rise and that already changes the way you approach the dating game

Wait til you hear about the time I held hands with a man unprotected. Oh my fucking god, I knew you were a slut but that just goes beyond anything reasonable.

"FUCKING CALLED IT. I knew you liked her more" "What? You're the one who said I should kiss her" "Yeah, to test your cheating ass, and you failed. I bet you loved kissing her, didn't you???"

So you have to constantly prove yourself to your family so you don't get abused? Sounds exhausting. You planning on moving out?

Why is that?

A roommate of mine. We enjoyed our town, went for walks, cooked and lifted together and even cuddled while watching anime together. I went for a kiss and got slapped because "you just can't kiss a girl out of the blue" she never said friend but i guess she always used me that way. Did you really feel used (judging from last sentence)? If so, why? Two weeks later she fell in love with a refugee from syria who can't speak german and just kissed her after some minutes of dancing in a club. Well, I …

Hmmmm I see. Interesting answer. I was considering a bit radical that you would cut all ties with women except for dating but you clarified what you meant with this answer and it strikes me as fairly reasonable. I don’t. When I was younger (15-16) I thought I would be able to be friends with women as long as I didn’t find them sexually attractive, but I always used to catch feelings. I don’t care if you’re a man or a woman; you don’t fall in love with looks, you fall in love with personality. I …

I agree, yeah. Imo it's kind of an exaggerated reaction to that specific event but I didn't live his life, perhaps later down the road he had experiences that reassured that train of thought and if that's an effective way for him to deal with possible rejections from girl friends, who am I to criticize ¯\(ツ)/¯
/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/22 08:36 PM

Edit: 35 years later we're still good friends. Well, at least the friendship persisted. And probably way more than the potential relationship that could've happened at that time
/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/22 08:10 PM

I see. Yeah, being upfront is probably the best course of action even if the emotional pain is inevitable.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/22 08:05 PM

I see ... It must've hurt, specially at such a young age :/ That was when I decided, that I never again am going to be friends with a woman if I am single. How is this working out for you, btw? Even if you find a girl unattractive and you think you won't like her as more than a friend, you still don't befriend them? Is that regarded as a strange mentality among your circles or they feel the same as you?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/22 08:03 PM

Yeah, I agree. At least you got it right out of the way instead of playing stupid games and trying to read intentions based on subjective signals ahahah How was the process of moving on, btw?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/22 07:41 PM

Yeah, that seems like good advice. I was asking more in a personal way to read about people's experiences irl and if they were ever actually able to go from friendship to more than that in certain occasions but I appreciate your input anyway
/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/22 07:38 PM

Personally, you believe it was solely because of looks that he didn't choose you, cause he thought the other girl from your circle was prettier, or that personality wise he found you nice but you were lacking in terms of humor/fun cause you were shy and introvert and he prefered an extrovert girl, for example? Or some other stuff?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/22 07:24 PM

True. Did you ever get into that, realized you weren't doing it right, changed your approach and managed to be successful, after?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/22 07:00 PM

When did you realize you were stuck in the "friend zone" and the relationship wouldn't grow out of that?

Yeah but even then you'll have to choose a person to have sex with and that choice will stem from the sexual attraction you feel about that person, otherwise you would choose someone else and I think that's what OP is alluding to. Obviously, this is in a normal scenario, if you pick an end of the world situation and there's only one other survivor besides yourself and you're feeling incredibly horny and masturbating doesn't cut it, to the point you would fuck anything that walks then I suppose y…

Yeah, I get that, but lets say it's 18 and 17? Would you have the same reaction?

”He was constantly mansplaining to her, dude. How fucking of a misogynistic racist idiot pig do you have to be to not understand that?????" Probably one of the answers you would get

It's a sense of pride and self value. When trying to build yourself up in society, the mindset that keeps you going is "I'm the best and if I focus I can do anything". So when you realise a girl still chose another dude before you, well, it feels like that pride and self improvement you worked on and the self esteem you have over your natural looks feels belittled, even if just a little, even if just enough to start an argument. That's my interpretation of it, at least.

Well, I guess it's pretty much related with your moral compass, the notion of good and wanting to practice that same good, in general. Kindness being "actively punished" is also a stretch considering that what OP was mentioning is definitely more correlation than causation. So, if you're not punished for being kind, but also not rewarded, logically speaking the only reason to continue being kind is because you think that's the right thing to do, nothing else.

They just said that cause they received multiple reports and were afraid to get banned. If you read that post and the comments you'll see it's painfully obvious it's all sarcasm.

"I've been under so much pressure with the college exams and my parents divorce, and then I saw you in that dress, so beautiful and waiting for action, and I thought, why not? But now I realize what I did was wrong. I'm deeply sorry." "Well, if you were under that much stress, I guess it's understandable. Don't worry."
