Ya that would be ideal. Not sure someone would tell me straight up to my face that I'm an ugly dude though. I guess the way I feel like this is because I hear so much about how tall people (I'm 6'3") get so much play, but the fact that women are so turned-off to me tells me there must be something wrong with me.

perhaps a bit of both. Definitely a big snobby population but a lot of them seem in tune with popular culture. Though theres a saying "they love black culture, but hate the people". Basically the story of Afrikans in the west.

I'm actually not in America - I'm in Canada. More specifically Montreal - very multicultural tolerant place though my school is mostly white.

Women mainly. Im definitely not socially awkward or socially stupid. I can TELL when people are annoyed by your very presence. And that seems to happen a lot. Like, I've seen how girls react to other guys on average and how they react to me. Most of the time I'm just kinda repulsed and they flat out act like they want nothing to do with me. Now in terms of random ones, the same thing happens - intentionally avoiding me, lowering their gaze when I approach, etc. So yes of course I want to be desi…

oh I see - well maybe it's just hard to describe but socially I don't know how someone giving you a frown/dirty look can be construed as anything other than they are repulsed by your appearance.

So right dude. It honestly kinda pisses me off how all these short guys are always like "I wanna be taller" or "women would like me if I'm tall". Women don't really give a fuck about height - if they did I'd be a real ladies man. It's all about face plus muscle plus being white. It really ain't shit especially when your like me on the lanky unable-to-gain-a-pound side. I have a small head, I'm black, and girls just generally seem to think that appearance-wise I'm a freak. I have a very friendly …

well basically I think I take rejection and "dirty looks" from people far too personally. I've been ignored sometimes talking to girls I've straight up known from elsewhere. People just generally go out of their way to avoid me - though it may not be a race thing and just a general unattractiveness thing.

oh that's why I say everything in my life is opposite. I love being black, I am proud to be able to trace my lineage to Africa, love listening to rap music and basketball. At the same time I do a lot of shit thats NOT stereotypical black (obsessed with LOTR and GOT for example). And it's almost as if people can't deal with someone whose not a walking stereotype. I'm attracted to all sorts of women (mostly white around here) but walking down the street towering over everybody I jut feel like a fr…

Dude I'm 20 still in university and I feel the exact same way. I feel like an absolute outcast and my grades have suffered as a result (I am what most would consider a relatively smart guy though). This school is mostly white, asian, with a spattering of indian, so as a tall black dude I feel like no one here wants anything to do with me, and all for almost no reason. Women here won't give me the time of day and outright ignore me most of the time or give me dirty looks which sucks because the g…

Man I do see Indian guys complain a lot, but you should flaunt your success and where your getting in life definitely - shows you have status and are well-grounded. I suffer from a lot of the same insecurities - I am black, 20 years old, 6'3", have very little friends, never had a GF, and most people who meet me judge me before they even get to know me. I'm not really that ghetto so I'm not sure if that's a pro or a con; but either way I'm in a very bad position. Don't let silly racial issues ho…

Could u explain this projecting bit? And ya I dunno maybe I come across as intimidating or some bullshit (tall but I'm skinny so maybe that's not it). No idea its starting to get to me.

ya everyone just hates me for no reason essentially - its very strange

Oh there's been times I've smiled at people and they give me an even DIRTIER look. It's almost like everything in my life is the opposite if that makes sense lol

Can't lie - theres honestly been times where I've wanted to turn to people (mostly guys) and just say "What the fuck are you looking at". Very frustrating emotions I'm going through

its funny - I can usually tell when someone finds me attractive or not. Which is exactly why I'm concerned about people staring at me.

I've been told numerous times throughout my life that I'm one of the nicest people ever so maybe that has something to do with it. I'm almost always friendly with new people.

ya i know - but its precisely because I'm so tall and get bad reactions that i feel this way...and yes ima be hitting the gym hard this summer lol

Ok well there were several points during the night where it was only me and a couple other guys and girls on the dance floor, so people could obviously see we were the centre of the party. This group of five girls was actually pretty receptive to me when I started a dance circle-like thing with them which was pretty fun. I was gonna try grind none but they sorta left when all the guys started to crowd around them haha. So literally the rest of the night I would approach women on the dance floor …

no Im not fat quite the opposite - I'm skinny and tall and seriously think that turns people off.

it may seem real silly, but unfortunately it seems to be the really dark-skinned black dudes and the really light-skinned lights ones the ladies love around here. I'm that reddish-brown hue so get ignored. sigh

that's the thing - I NEVER get checked out. Not in clubs, not in the street, not anywhere. You see it's a cycle - I'm 6'3" so think I SHOULD get checked out but that shit never happens so then I just think there's something wrong.

yup eye contact is definitely something - not sure if I specified somewhere else but the problem is I DO try and make eye contact but they're usually not interested in maintaining it; or they do the whole 'bad vibes' thing I was talking about

Woah didn't think this many people would respond, just felt kinda down this morning - really appreciate it :)

True. I guess I just find it embarrassing to get rejected and have other girls in the vicinity see so then I can't bring myself to approach them. This is good advice though! :)

hahah u can judge for yourself - but usually I wouldn't be directly in their physical vicinity so no, no pushing against them that could explain it http://imgur.com/ZdhGV78
